Driver Medicals

My GP wanted £130 CASH, told him to go forth and multiply :open_mouth:

Funny how I could name the date and time for the cash job, but if you want anything on the NHS, its a two week wait minimum :unamused:

Got it done for £49 with an Indian gentleman who has a surgery in his garage, I got a receipt and a pretty good “medical”, very thorough and an eye test as well.

tango boy:
Think those places are a joke as they don’t know you or your medical history!!! :unamused:

When I came back to driving a few years ago I used my GP for the HGV medical, we sat there and he asked me the questions on the form and I gave him the answers so he could tick the boxes ec’t, at no time did he refer to my medical records he just completed the form on the basis of the answers I gave to his questions.

For this professional service I was charged the princely sum of £132 :open_mouth:

Why pay more than £40-50 for the same service, it’s not like you’re having a medical to assess your overall health.

Your even better off if you work at B&M, they will pay £50 towards your medical and they pay for your DCPC, now that’s how companies should be.

Eddi:
They might not be the best medicals but my dr charges £107 and won’t do the eye test!! The cheapest I found near me is £50.

Doctor no longer allowed to do eyetests, must be a proper optcion

An open goal, but I shall refrain from shooting.

Great restraint shown by The Maoster. Respect lol.

I wouldn’t have been able to resist.

It’s tough but sometimes I at least like to give the impression that I’m a grown up!

I’ve got my medical tomorrow, the Dr told me that she can do the eye test as long as I don’t need glasses, hope she can as I need to get it sorted as soon as poss.

I’ve now had my medical (first one to get my class c provisional) and the Dr did my eye test as well, I’m glad as I was worried after what you said.

Because of my great age I get eye tests FREE! so I pay my Doc £30 for the medical, get the eye test free and the optician fills in the front page of my D4 for free! Result.
It’s definitely a bonus getting old, as well as free eye tests, I get a fuel allowance, and it won’t be long before I get a free television licence!

I paid £80.00 and never asked for a penny.
Yet he had steam coming out of his ears when I said I had to finish slightly earlier to go and have it done.
The pillock.
