AETR is basically how we used to run tacho’s before 2006.
Not any more it isn’t. New AETR rules came in to force in September 2010 and are mostly the same as the current EU rules.

So we were even taught that wrong then lol.
Maybe he said they’d brought AETR rules into line with EU rather than the countries into EU rules.
If that’s the case, he probably taught it right and the video was out of date, cause the AETR rules in the vid were definately like the old EU rules, 3x15’s etc.
i got 21 hours in so far because i did an ADR course last february.
learnt a lot as i hadn’t done anything relating to hazardous goods or transporting them.cost me about £600 for the lot which included uploading the relevant info to the vosa website.i wasn’t self employed then so i had to pay for it all myself
not bothering doing anything else until 2014 now & will look at what i want to do.i think get another 14 hrs for the ADR refrsher course which will be due in feb 2014 & also 14 hours for a HIAB course which i might look at doing.
if anyones done one on driving rules & regs, was it worth doing? might look at taking that part of the course if i can get some benefit from it.
i’m a self employed ltd company so i can put it through the books & it’s not going to cost me anything personally to finish it the last 14 hours

I don’t think HIAB goes towards CPC?
I thought ADR lasted 5yrs, so why would it be due feb 2014 if you did it last feb?
Answer to your other question, no the driving rules / regs course isn’t worth doing
i can take my adr refresher up to a year before it runs out so that will give me the last 14 hrs.
cheers for the reply about the drivers course as well
Do up twistlocks, know tachograph rules, what the hell else is relevant to me?
To keep in with the law I will get whatever certificate I need to earn a living but it is nothing more than an expence that should be 100% deductadle against tax.

dcpc approved ADR refresher is only 7 hours for dcpc

Approved Periodic Training Course Directory - I put HIAB into the search box and found 2 courses each approved for 7 hours
Putting LORRY LOADER into the search comes up with many more but I’m not sure if that is the same thing as HIAB

cheers for that rog, looks like i was mistaken in thinking it was 14hrs,thought the hiab course counted.
Had 7 hours last year, the next 7 is coming up soon, wonder what rubbish ive gotta sit through this time
14 hours so far, the only possible positive outcome is that hopefully, it will create a shortage of drivers and push pay rates up.

And it might snow in June and the sun might go round the moon.

Hi jrl driver,
ROG has this one correct about the 7 hours for an ADR refresher, but if you have a look near the top of page #2 of this topic, you’ll see another option that might appeal to you.
I hope that my second post on that page (to nickb67) helps.

cheers rog & dean, the place i did my ADR course at,do the HIAB course, but they say you get up to 14 hours DCPC with them as it’s a 2 day course, that’s why i was leaving it until 2014 to finish getting mine done as i was looking into doing a HIAB course as it’s another string to my bow as they say.
