It’s part of Boris’s deal.with the EU, he’s gave up the right for trucks to overtake on the left in queues on smart motorways.

On a smart motorway when the hard shoulder is a running lane it becomes lane 1. Everyone who continues to sit in what was lane 1 are doing the equivalent of sitting in the middle lane. And no it’s not dangerous. If you think it’s dangerous to use it you should send your licence back to DVLA.

However don’t change what you do my clueless friend because it’s muppets like you that leave me a lane that’s nice and empty that I can tank down at the speed limit undertaking all the idiots sat there crawling along in the other lanes with nothing in front of me for miles to slow me down.
