Well here is a little refrigeration tale for you, I was a young engineer at the time this happened, a little wild and carefree. The firm was a large refrigeration company. There was an engineer who was a right snitching [zb], we used to smoke in the plant rooms and all over the site outside as it was a no smoking site. Anyway this snitch used to hide around corners and report anyone he found smoking, all off his own back as he had no authority over any of us. he got a fair few sacked because they were serial offenders, one day we all had to go to the office for a meeting and the firm made a shock announcement that they had to make some cutbacks, redundancies were announced. This snitch was on the redundancy list and we all smiled, I went up to him and he said “can you believe it”, I said no and especially that you are on the list after all you have done for the company. He gave me a look that he knew I was of course taking the ■■■■ out of him. Any way the point is that he got made redundant over a few of us, we all kept our jobs but he went, we gave him a good send off too, but that’s another story, the management told us that he got made redundant instead of us was because he was basically a grass and an unpopular character. So the moral is, don’t grass your mates as even the management will also dislike you for it.
He got made redundant, becusse you were such a star you fixed all the fridges for free … and saved the company money …

That IS my opinion of myself yes. I dont hang about but drive 100% safe 100% of the time, not having a road crash in 25 years says that. Re caravans, where exactly did i say i tailgate caravans? I tailgate nobody, i just overtake them. However most mobile toilet pullers dont expect to be overtaken by a 44tonner on an N road but 700horses pulling on the pin sees to that easily but…i always do it safely without danger to anyone, i cant help the lump of fibreglass being blown sideways on a windy day when i go past can i? And ref my driving, ive been doing this long enough to know whats safe and what isnt, i endanger no one on the roads…
but NEVER push anyone along and apart from caravan season never terrorise anyone
ok you say you never push anyone along but you also say you never terrorise anyone apart from the caravan season. Let me ask you how and why you do that?
Anyone that says they drive 100% safe all the time is completely deluded(even although you blow caravans sideways when you overtake) and as all of this (zb) is your own opinion I doubt very much what you say is true either.
Many drivers think they are top notch but usually they are amongst some of the worst on our roads. I have seen it first hand many times .And 25 years probably means you have been very lucky
after reading your (zb)
By the way you know all the truck drivers in truck heaven? They probably thought they were top notch as well.
I really dont give a [zb] what you think or believe. I know my capabilities and re my comment on caravans, you didnt even read my reply did you You very obviously dont even drive a truck, what are you actually doing on this forum
[/quote] And I really do not believe you know your capabilities. Do you have difficulty getting in and out of your cab everyday because that’s the way it sounds from here. Met plenty drivers like yourself and very few are as good as they think they are. Its the ones that don’t boast are usually the better ones. I just hope it never suddenly goes wrong for you like it does with many with your attitude and I hope even more nobody else is involved. And yes I do drive trucks and have done for many years and to this day have never heard of a company wanting drivers with 10 years experience. If that was the case surely the would have assessed your driving because experience does not necessarily make you good.

You really do have absolutely no idea Just by the way you come across and your terminology on this forum says to me you DO NOT have a licence to drive a truck. Youre a car driver at best…

Oh and I seem to remember reading a thread before I joined where you were saying you multi tasked whilst driving. I remember at the time thinking…who is this clown.

We are all of us above average at this driving malarkey, even though its a mathematical impossibility.
30+ years with no accidents. No bridge strikes, not turned one over etc etc, and there are plenty around like me. That does not mean I think I am a Driving God. What it does mean, is that I will get in my truck tomorrow, I will drive it out the yard, and keep to the speed limits, keep my distance from other vehicles and just get my jobs done. I will be unerringly polite to everybody I meet and hopefully return home safely. Some people on here think this is an impossibility. It is easily done, just get over yourself.
To me I always think your first loyalty is to the people who pay your wages, not your fellow employees. That’s not to say id go running to the boss for any tiny thing, I ignore most or talk to them myself, but I have on at least two occasions spoken to my employer about problems with a fellow driver. The most notable was when double Manning a coach on a school trip to Austria, the other driver had sleep apnea and scared the passengers to death on the way down. He couldn’t see any problem and wouldn’t listen to me so I went to the boss. As it was I had to drive back from Austria pretty much on my own as passengers were so terrified of his driving.

Well you did not have much option really in this example. If you didn’t say anything, I am sure the passengers would have complained regardless. Also this is a medical problem that needs reporting.

Captain Caveman 76:
Would you report one of your fellow drivers to your company, even though it could end up getting him the sack?
Got a lift off a colleague, and his driving was awful to the point of being dangerous, speeding and intimidating pedestrians. I nearly got out the cab when he stopped. He also blocked an ambulance running on a blue light, not sure if it was deliberate or he just didn’t foresee what was going to happen (I did).
Shop him before he kills either a member of the public or a colleague. If you have video evidence (I suggest engineering a situation where you are his passenger, so that you can get some), take it to them and threaten to take it to the police if they do nothing.
Or you could ring as a “concerned member of the public”, or a get a friend to do so, with similar info to what you told the management and tell them you will go to the DVSA – they are more likely to act if they think their reputation or licence is on the line.

Is it really wise to threaten your employer?
Got some proper jobsworths on this board.
As it’s already been stated by other your not saving lives by shopping the kid. At best your making him change employer. If you want to avoid the chance of him hurting someone your only option is to lock him in your basement lol.
Switchlogic case is different though and I would of done the same obviously.
I find it incredible how everyone assumes everyone else is going to kill someone because they don’t drive like they do. Therefor shop him, get him sacked and then they have somehow saved a life. Use the phrase “before they kill someone” and everyone goes into mass hysteria.
