Devon companies

G’day,
Good one Bubbs mate, funny I always wondred what the Ravajet plate was and nearly twenty years later I find out,I reckon I guessed it was a CB handle, but it seemed a bit of a strange one. Sadly I don’t have any photos of Brain Harris’ motors, they would’nt have stoped over night in Tiverton,it’s too close to thier yard.
I’ve found another R Radfords tidy looking F7. Also some of H F Heard from Cullompton, the Dodge was always parked up every night in the lorry park and most times loaded with roof tiles,I’m pretty sure it was replaced by the Merc in the early 90s. Lastly the K series Dodge bulker was taken in thier yard, looks like it was the last frame on the film,I remember being fairy gutted as it was a very small yard so I could’nt get a better shot and then the film ran out.
Cheers Jamie

Great pics Bubbs and Jamie, nice to see pics of Brian harris fleet, always looked smart, keep em coming.
Cheers Dave.

bestbooties:
One that has not been mentioned yet,Parsons of Exeter, saw one over the weekend, didn’t think they were still running?Similar colour scheme to Gregory’s,any connection?

Parsons from Aylesbeare (spelling) . . do/didnt they run block grab motors ?

Just a few more, Bedford TM was only 1 i can remember in North Devon, wouldn’t fancy doing international in PM Clarkes sleeper pod!. Had to add Greenaways Marathon even thou it is from just over the border, cause you can never see enough of them, anyone have any tales to tell about them.

bubbleman:
Hi,good pics Jamie…the Stoford pics were taken from my vantage spot by the M4 near Bristol, the Radfords stuff brings back memories of the late 70s when we were on AM (illegal) CB…Revajet, his various steeds are included here was always on the airwaves,he had one of the broadest devon accents going but could take the wee-wee out of everyone.
Heres a few from the best fleet in Devon, sadly missed

The EC E.R.F was taken the day before the auction,on its final trip for Brian…anyone know the reg number of the Foden?

Cheers Bubbs.

I’ll ask Brian about the Foden reg at the weekend
Nice to see B71WDV AGAIN :astonished: my old motor

G’day,
top job John, top job mate, great pics,I remember seing that MAN with the sleeper pod and the Notts Quarries motor brings back old memories of seing thier trucks about.
The Torridge Atki also used to park up every weekend in Tiverton,I enclose two more shots. Also a very tidy 400 Atki, the pic was taken in 1990,she looked good for ten years old, unusual that is had no sign writing and I’m not sure what the wipers are doing? HEU904X was also a 400,but with a 401 grill. The Maggie was an early shot for me taken in 86 or 87,it was later bought by a bloke called Colin Wensley from Tiverton who ran a coulpe of DAF 3600s,he had the Maggie sign written with his name,I only saw it once and it just dissapeared anyone know what happened to it? Last up one of Torridge’s Mercs taken again in 1990. I always liked the look of thier trucks they were well worked but were looked after, there were always sheets, ropes chains etc stored behind the cab, real general haulage type waggons. Notice the Billy Hockin F12s in some of these pics? I’ll put some up soon.
Cheers Jamie

Hello, here theres some real good pics coming on this thread, here are a few more from me…the first is for Benny cos it was his wagon.

TOD427X Straight out of the box then ending her days at the chipboard factory at South Molton.

Cheers Bubbs.

Back in the eighties, we used to ge the Bampton cattle company lorries from Cullompton Devon, coming up to Knighton in Powys, cattle market. I think they were red wagons, don’t know if any of you remember them.
Cheers Dave.

Good to see more Torridge photos, didn’t see that maggie about, don’t think they had it long and guess it was brought second-hand. I had forgotten about the MAN, knew they had some of about 74 vintage, have always thought they had a F88, anyone confirm this. I don’t have anymore photos Jamie, think i must have spent my time gazing at them rather than taking photos, but if you or Mr Bubbleman have anymore please stick them on.

Thanks for the pic bubbleman
Do you remember T&T Transport from Clyst St George Nr Exeter with their Air Cooled Magirus Deutz trucks on tipper work mainly farm/feed. They also ran some F10’s

Hello,some Tand Ts Benny

Cheers Bubbs.

any pics of Dave Pollards trucks?

This is a great thread. Heres my humble offering. Hope you like it.

Nice pictures of Evans TM, they have run so unusal stuff over the years, Dodge 300 arctics, Daf 2600 and 2800, Pegaso Troner, (looked like a Daf) various old British motors, and V8 Scania’s. Think they are still running a couple of trucks.

G’day fellas,
some realy good stuff coming along on here now. The Evans TM is a ripper,I didn’t know they ran blue trucks too,or is it a different Evans? do you think he’s enough flags in the window? Great pics of T&T Transport Bubbs,I remember seeing them around but never got and photos,I like the wheel trims on the grill of the old F10,funny what used to get used when “Customizing” a truck.
Found another of Ravajet’s motors, again taken in Tiverton and another Torridge Merc taken in Aug 92. I also found one of Bampton Cattle Transports motors for you Dave,it used to pull a drag, the shot was taken at Truckfest Southwest 1990,the 3 series Scania next to it was also one of thiers, but sadly no photo. I went to school with the daughter of the owner and they were from near Bampton not Cullompton. They also ran a very tidy 6 legger scania 86 with a stock crate, has anyone any photos? I only saw it a couple of times.
Finaly some of Colin G wensley’s waggons, the first is his 3600 DAF new out of the box as you say Bubbs, taken in Aug 87,note that Professional is spelt wrong with only one ‘s’ and in the later shots it has the second ‘s’ added,he also ran the second white DAF and later bought the Torridge Maggie. The Bison was a favourite of mine,I went out for an afternoon in it one school holiday. I don’t know what happened to him or his trucks,he either sold up or went bust, not sure.
Cheers keep 'em coming Jamie

Here’s the Bison

Hi all the blue Evans Transport is a differenet company to the green Evans Transport, although I think Jimmy Evans (Blue J.T. Evans) is a cousin to John (Green Evans Transport).Just to confuse matters even more does anybody remember Michael Evans (brother of John “Green”) with the silver Volvos.
J.T. Evans are still going but not sure think they have only 1 or 2 trucks now, I don’t think any are painted in there blue livery. Ian Evans Jimmy’s son drives an immaculate metalic black Volvo FH16 with no sign writing.

Good pics Jamie, nice to see the one of Bampton’s, keep them coming.
Cheers Dave.

Glad you liked the Evans Bedford TM photo, heres one i took many moons ago at Truckfest SouthWest, i havnt heard this firm mentioned on this thread so far, do we have any more M & D photos or info?.

G’day
Good one Mark mate,I wondered how long it would be before M&D came up,yep got quite a few photos of them. I dig them out tomorrow.
Cheers Jamie
