G’day,
I remember seeing that ex Smythe’s 113,great pic Bubbs mate brings back memories of staring out of my class room window watching waggons pull up the North Devon Link Road. It must have been one of Smythe’s last trucks before they finnished up.
I found another of Partridges taken in May 1991. I remember when they got the F16,wow she was a big banger back then. There are still heaps of them in Perth and Fremantle,Western Australia. Many of them are pulling boxes of the wharfs in Freo, they sound great with their distinctive turbo whistle.
Coombesie had a couple of these powerliners,I think he bought them new, this was taken in 1990.
Another shot of HYD649T,taken in 1989,she looks a bit tired by now,I think she was scraped in 91/92
Cheers Jamie
JAMIE10,

Now some Thompsons.
Cheers Bubbs.
Took me ages to master posting pic’s too jamie10, so stick with it.
Still hoping to see some pictures of Lameys of Appledore before they were taken over by Evans Transport in about 1985. They ran Mandators then ERF B Series. Can anyone put me out of my misery.
Have a look at the tips on how to post pics by ROG, on this forum Jamie10, you are nearly there, just missing a copy or paste click by the looks.
G’day,
Top effort Bubbs mate in finding the photo of HYD,out of the mists of time comes information on an old banger that’s long since been cut up,thanks mate. Any luck with finding a pic of DWN966V? I realy liked those Gregory Dodge’s too mate,I did’nt know they had them,so I’ve doug out a few more Commandos.
Keep going Jamie10,looking forward to the photos mate.
Another of John Dorse’s taken in his yard xmas 89,it must have been re-cabbed as it has the later plastic grill.
Not sure if W E Shapland were from Devon or not,but the pic was taken in Devon at the cafe on top of Telegraph Hill,Oct 1991.
When i did finaly start an appreticeship as a fitter, this was one of two Ivybridge waggons that we looked after, probably an ex Picfords,it was called the Erme, which I think is a river in South Devon? anyone? Taken in Tiverton Sep 1998.
Another of H F Heard of Cullompton,also looks like it’s been re-cabbed.
Cheers, keep it up fellas, five pages now, good effort. Jamie
W E Shaplands were from near Barnstaple, they ran a few 4 wheelers, closed down in the mid 80’s i think.

That’s it, it flows down off Dartmoor through Ivybridge, past Ermington underneath Flete Bridges (on the A379 where you fork off the Plymouth road for South Brent)
Brilliant thread by the way…really enjoying seeing these pics, remember the Partridges trucks from the old days when i was on the farm and used to go to the summer Cattle Fairs…and A.E.
