Hi Alan Sorry but I can’t remember what motor Pineapple was driving at the time and the names of the other two lads I don’t know, that’s not to say I never met them, but there were no folk lift trucks carried on trailers when I left, the trucks where still in Red livery with White roofs, there was only one MAN, which I had until I left. You may remember that during the strike, Roly, Pineapple and myself were on the Union committee and when JH was going to lay off quite a few drivers, it was me that put the motion forward to go on a 4 day week in order to keep the remaining drivers on, J H agreed, but it took quite a bit to convince the rest of the drivers, but it did go through in the end. Hi Alan / Mac,
Ronnie thinks the MAN with the column change was driven by Muppet and there was a was a F86 with a fork lift on the chassis which Keith drove.

allowed to deliver within a half hour window. The top photo was my old truck.

Hi Darren, did he get the MAN after I left? The folk lifts were put on the trailers after I had left
mac !!!
listen carefully the fork lift in question in the last few posts was attached to an f86 tractor unit, it folded down into the chassis when pulling a trailer then when needed to off load the trailer
had to be dropped and then the unit was used as a fork lift.
the other fork lifts which were carried on the rear end of the trailers came later and at least half of the trailers were adapted to carry these
Arbuthnot Storage, that’s right. Could I hell remember the name, It’s Murder when you are a silly old sod. I’m so old that I can remember When Pyjamas had a cord to hold them up instead of an elasticated waist.

Hi Alan, it’s not a trick question. Its a clock that we bought at a Traction Engine rally at Pickering, but it is a genuine part, (not the clock) Kenny Johnson may know.
I had completely forgotten about Benny Hill, Any other forgotten names?
Haven’t heard from cheeky monkey on here for a while, come on boys keep the blog going.

Anyone know what part of an Atkinson this is?
Bill
Hi Bill,i have never seen a Atkinson clock, in fact i can’t think of any make of motors that had a time clock fitted.untill tachoes came in.Is it a electric one, is it out of a dash does it wind up or what. Put the photo on the Mk1 &Mk11 Akinson thread someone might know something.Regards Ken
Hi Kenny, The Clock is just a battery clock fitted in the brass housing. I was told that the brass ring was off the rear hub. Could it have something to do with the wheel bearing perhaps?
Regards Bill
Sorry to shatter any myths, but the casting is just what it appears to be - merely a text, depicting the manufacturer. It’s not from a hub cover or any other part of a vehicle made by Atkinson.
There are lots of these types of things available to buy at the many trinket stalls seen on rally showgrounds. At one time you could get brass replicas of many manufacturer motifs - it seems this has extended to curios like clocks. There are even watches available on eBay with Atkinson logos on the face…
Thanks a lot, been ripped off again. At todays prices, I could probably get my money back if I weighed the brass in.Too bloody sentimental by half. That will teach me! At least it keeps good time.
