The Foden S21 “Mickey Mouse” is about the only Foden cab that I haven’t travelled in since the 1950’s, passed my test in a S 34 and have driven most of the later ranges but not the Alpha models. Still love 'em!
Pete.

Now that’s a real shame as that means you had to drive the things every day
You couldn’t go wrong with them, easy to service and repair, not bad to drive (comfort isn’t everything) and with the 12 speed box they went well. The later models were lighter than most of the opposition as well, you could get 20 tonnes on an 8 wheeler at 30.50 when some of the MAN’s and Volvo’s were struggling to get that running at 31 tonnes. Most of the East Midlands tipper firms liked them for their strength and you could get ten years plus from them before selling them on, they wern’t perfect of course but they lasted a lot longer than the continental stuff that replaced them. The foreigners were good to drive by all accounts but the Foden was a proper “Gaffers Truck”.
RIP!
Pete.
To true Windrush, Foden, ERF, they were proper money earning motors, and alot of this country was built off the back of em. R.I.P, may their wheels never stop turning.
Here’s a selection I snapped around at the Truckfest events back in the late '80s/early '90s
Anyone remember any of them?..or where they are now?
