When I was doing my “training”,trading jokes and tall tales I offered to wash the bus for £200.00 and drive it for nothing .The idea is not new and the trainer said it wouldnt work out.

The “trainer” would say that wouldnt he!

They will not put the date back for one simple reason, 1000quid if you are caught driving without your card and vosa are self funding, say no more.

£30 fixed penalty with no points if caught driving commercially with no card

The £1000 is for not doing the relevant training

Relevant training! whats relevant about doing the same bloody “CPC” module 5 times?.
jobs for the boys and a money making scam.

Why not cut that very question and paste it to your European MEP in Brussels/Strasbourg?

I’m being serious since it’s a piece of duff and free to do electronically - since it’s their job to listen/respond, etc to our whinges as their unhappy constituents.

The EU MEP’s are the suit wearers who are idling their time and our taxes with allowances galore and arguably in the dark about this daft EU legislation: Surely by not doing so we are in effect, through our being mute, sanctioning the ridiculous (one-size-doesn’t-fit-all) DCPC

If your MEP is UKIP they will gleefully highlight the sheer stupidity of this inequality (in the approx 90 seconds of speechtime they are each allocated each month)- although if your chosen MEP is either Lib, Lab or Con they will likely flannel/blank/ignore you or mutter some pacifying bull-muck about it being for the best and how we really ought to be happy for it.

We do uk/europe so we thought a good idea was that 1 of the modules was to do with Driving abroad (can`t remeber the exact title)

when asked they said “Uh no sorry you can`t do that 1”

Oh well Tachos/health and safety it is again then… :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

That’s the answer.
The papers will do the donkey work for us.

the headline…“HGV drivers to work for free”
Hgv drivers in the UK will protest against the Driver CPC by working for free. The idea behind this is simple, They don’t want to empty the supermarket shelves. They want the Government to sit up and listen. They can’t legally withold taxes, But they don’t have to pay tax when no money is earned. They also don’t need to have a Driver CPC if they work for free.
The British public are fully aware that British HGV drivers are the best in the world, and are some of the highest paid. Therefore the loss to the exchequer will be so much that the Government will have to back down.

Well, it looks like drivers are finally sitting up and taking note. We have had three times the usual number of inquiries in the past two weeks. It is not going away…

Rikki-UK:
'…Q1. Do you believe the Government will extend the Sept 2014 deadline for Driver CPC accreditation for truckers?..’

My guess is that the EU’s British zone administrators (the hitherto British Government) may be permitted by Brussels/Strasbourg to allow an extension period by charging a fee/financial penalty in-lieu for given chunks of time up to a maximum.

For those that further ignore the DCPC, it’ll be court or chokey for the errant/misguided (loyal?) citizen.

Rikki-UK:
‘…Q2. Do you believe that the Government’s Driver CPC training initiative will make you a better, more informed driver? …’

I’m wondering how being subordinated/disenfranchised by a foreign requirement and being ignored by supposed British, pro EU politicians and Transport Industry sycophants can have any positive effect upon Britain’s road safety?

The question is akin to ‘Do you think the French would have been ultimately content with ■■■■ occupation if the Allies hadn’t intervened?’

If the lack of take-up is seen as a problem then all they have to do is hold back on prosecutions and just give warnings for a limited period, 6 months maybe? I seem to remember this being done with the laws on seat belt and mobile phone use.

They can also threaten employers who use any unqualified drivers - that will mean that no unqualified agency driver will get any work.

At some point I expect that all HGV licence holders who haven’t done the thing will be told - do it or lose your entitlement.

This is almost to the letter what the Traffic Comissioners have said will happen.

Driver stopped without DQC, no fine but licence suspended whilst they obtain the DQC. meanwhile the Operator will be under serious scrutiny including explaining why they employed said driver which will inevitably then find more drivers employed by them without the DQC (shame for those lads)

I think this will mean lots of pressure on operstors to organise and pay for the training - which is what is needed.

TCs are also currently making operators involved in public inquries arrange DCPC training for their drivers or at least provide evidence of DCPC schedules … Operators are going to have to sit up and get on with DCPC.

Also - to add to the comments from UGT. the last two weeks have seen a lot more (double) enquiries from companies organising training for their drivers. I ran a 5 day course last week - all attendees (just about) were being paid to be there and the course being paid for. I have another 6 such five day courses over the next 7 weeks with more enquries yet to be dealt with. it seems operators are getting it sorted in the shortest least distruptive way possible.

You are wasting your efforts on behalf of the hgv ‘sheep’ who are being herded up to be periodically ‘sheared’, a fate they deserve.

+1^^^
It will be interesting to read about the Bus drivers this September! Or are they all having their training funded? :astonished:

Why get ratty amongst us on here when (possibly you amongst) British society consistently votes for a pro-EU Governmment - meaning all of Labour; all the Liberals as well as 99.99% of Cameron’s Consters

All those parties are all very, very keen to kow-tow with our money to all the Brussels, including the DCPC, legislation - so perhaps give-off to whoever you voted for - unless you cant be bothered, of course

Kieth if there were that many of the British public in favour of eu ■■■■ membership the government would have a referendum now

I have a distinct feeling that Mr Smythe is a DCPC presenter trying to justify this waste of time and more importantly Money.

Dad did cyclist awareness today for DCPC. He retires before it becomes law but now you have to do it as part of the EPIC card money making machine. Complete waffle he said, and even the trainer chap said the DCPC thing is badly thought out.
More EPIC “training” now with “hug a cyclist” added on…
…I’m starting to miss tippers less and less each day.
