Not quite the same, but when I was a young boy/lad we used to stay with my Dad’s mate in South Molton who had a Guernsey/Jersey herd.
Whenever I went into their field one of the young Jerseys as soon as she spotted me would run over and do her best to be show her affection.
Most of the time it was fine, but If she got too affectionate the remains of her horns could be quite painful in the groin area.
I grew up around dairy herds due to neighbour’s & dad’s friends, but that was the only animal that I actually felt I had made some kind of bond like you would with a dog.
When you live and work with them everyday, do you ever make a special connection with any of them?
So here I was last week down on’t farm in Belgium loaded pears & surrounded by all them there trackters lol

Here we are tonight sitting on the dock of the bay………
Well Pompey actually waiting for the night boat to Le Havre myself & Moxey off on a little jolly to Barcelona lattachment=0]IMG_3043.jpeg[/attachment]
I’m so jealous, had some great times in Le Havre, they have a fancy big inside and outdoor pool, it was designed by some famous architect, the inside has streams and rivers of water to mess about in.
My ■■■■■■■■■■■■ in Barcelona was inside the port at a garage with a cafe and a shower, no problem to get in as the Guardia Civil are always asleep on the main gate in.
The last time I stopped in La Jonquera it resembled a city in Eastern Europe with Bulgarian and Romanian food shops.
South of Limoges at Pierre Buffiere.

Just been up to Tracy Island to pick up a delivery of shallots as its pickling season, Viv was there and expressed an interest but told him I only do 6 x 2lb jars and he said he would take the lot so Chippers and Andrew if you want any you have to see Viv who might be tempted to let you have a couple but think you have to trade for one of your International trips, seems fair to me boys,

Well after a wet July and August we were hoping for a dryish back end, but it’s getting wetter and wetter so the cattle will be coming in sooner rather than later. Busy getting horned gimmers ready for sale on Saturday and we have two bulls in at Leyburn auction tomorrow.
Tupping is well underway with over a hundred tupped already so Feb is going to be a busy in the lambing shed.
Work is steady at the moment with machinery seeming quiet, was talking to a dealer the other day who said he head gone quiet and he was blaming interest rates so we will see how the job pans out.
On a brighter note Alice’s shoulder is on the mend, still sore but getting more movement in it now.
Cheers Wrighty.
