Just heard that the tunnels will be closed from sat night into sunday morning. I’ve got to get from folkestone to harlow and will be too high for blackwall. Whats the best way to the m11? Round the m25 clockwise or up the a20 and thru london?

Hope you know the London lorry control routes if you go through London .I would go rounnd

the Rotherhithe tunnel has a height limit of 14’9"… otherwise southwark bridge (A300) via Elephant and Castle im afraid, don’t think you can travel there at night if your over 18 tonne though because of the London Lorry Control… as already said the M25 would be a better option if you have no LLC map

rotherhite also has 7.5t and 6’6" width limit. Dartford tunnel is shut from 10pm till 4 am. only other way around it would be north round the 25 unless you want a £130 fine and a fine of up to £550 for the company.

lol checked a pic of the entrance, was a pic from 2006 mind, not been there for a long time myself… just checked with google maps and its 17t and a 6’6" width limit, cant see a 17t vehicle fitting through 6’6 mind but hey ho

have a look on google earth. i just checked again to see and its an 17t MGW 33’ length restriction and no HAZMAT (same as the Blackwall) but it is 6’6" width limit and you we’re correct with the height at 14’9"

Ringing in sick isn’t an option, i’m already on my way to france and that is my load back in. We do have permits for london for nights/weekends could write out a delivery line to say i’m tipping in london incase i get stopped. M25 just seems a long way round.

Wrong
Were too high for blackwall tunnel going northbound, but we can get under the 13’9" bridge on the south circular, because we’re 13’9". If your over 13’9" there is a very short diversion around that bridge, although I’m not sure if hgv’s can use it at night.
If your unsure about driving around London at night (who is? I don’t know how I haven’t been fined!) your best off sticking to the M25 as others have said.

how tall truck me I have to use tower bridge this evening at work if I get a brake down or London bridge and old kent road
is there not an authority phone number to ring who will give you the recommended route to get round the problem.

The M25 may not be ideal but overnight will be should be no problems,ask your TM or “planner” for advise,chuck the ball in their court that’s what they get paid for

southwark bridge to the highway falls in the LLC thats a no no.
if you wanted to go through london, it would be round the south circ over kew bridge then north circ. otherwise just sick with the easy route of the 25.
google maps shows from J2 with the A2 round the J27 M11 to be 98.5miles
