What was the sand quarry near Silloth. Hell of a drop down into the bottom if you turned right off the weighbridge? Fair character worked in there, from Allonby I think.
Overby quarry it belonged to Peter greggains and then Thomas Armstrong when they bought out greggains.the lad on the shovel is jimmy scott
Overby, that’s it. My first outings at off road driving! I’m going back about 8 years
We have more than likely crossed paths then I work out of overby nearly every day

Hi Hodgeturbo have you mind of the one that was at J&J Currie’s yard on Lockerbie Road Dumfries he came in quite early in the morning to hose out the trailer and he had the tipper up there was a mains cable near it and with it being a wet morning it arced about 8ft by hell that motor was some mess diaphrams nearly all blown of it and the front wheels complete with drums were lying beside it the big stub nuts torn out over the threads. The driver was okay apart from a hellava fright.
Any pics of Armstrong’s motors in the old green livery Hodge? I remember they had a couple of TM Bedfords sure there were other types but can’t remember.
Little haha, cheers for the Green Armstrong’s motors I asked for.
I’ve asked before on here for a pic of P.A.Morgan’s Magirus Deutz (YHH ****T as far as I remember) the artic that I first drove.
Or even. Tony’s (P.A.) Ford D series 4 wheeler with the home made sleeper (was it ex.Bewicks Dennis, I remember he bought it in the county and it coming red and white)or any of Fraser’s Silloth rigids. Cheers.
Anyone know what the score is with Brown’s of Carlisle these days? I thought they’d gone pop and ATL mopped up the bits, but I still see a lot of their trailers in Nestle and even an 09 Merc unit one day
