12/14 hour days and paid for 10? how does that work out.
Do you get over hours back, if you’ve averaged say 20 hours over in a time period do they give you a couple of days off to bring you hours back down or do they give you 7 hour shifts for a week to even things out?

I worked for Culina but in Avonmouth for nearly 7 yrs on a 5x3 contract which spreads 5 working days over an 8 day week as such and therefore because of this some working weeks only contain 4 working days if you get my drift, rarely did I go over 12 but sometimes it did happen and also sometimes I was gone in less than 9 and my average after booking basic breaks and no poa never got above about 44 if I remember correctly. If your hours were high they’d give you some short shifts not days off.
Overtime was after working a rest day only but maybe things have changed but I don’t think they have.
A reasonable system then Bald Bloke, can see why you stuck it for those years.
Nice to see they didn’t try and grab the extra 4 hours back of your 44 average when contracted 48.
Where i am they don’t want the underworked hours back either, which not everyone appreciates but you soon hear the usual suspects crying on the odd week it goes the other way.

Exactly. I’m salaried on 4on-4off, and even if I would max my hours I would only work 49. That would put me in. The £10 ph bracket. But I’m more likely to work 42ish hours a week, so (for what it’s worth) my hour rate is higher than that. Talking about enhanced weekend rates difies the object of working 4on-4off whilst being paid a salary.
Oh, and for the purists… I haven’t included my night out money in my salary…
What sort of timing is it then with early morning? I know some places its between 3am till 7am… i just dont fancy nights out… love my bed lol
Just seen gist recruiting on indeed… hoping to for them to get back in touch
It’s still pretty good BB .
Bearing in mind a had a bit of sick time off
Yes we don’t get paid sick.
Avonmouth depot.
I’ve moved from 4/2= 6 day rota to 5/3=8 day rota .
It’s basic is £32.5k .
We have about 3 places where you might have to get in the back Aldi Cardiff being one Lenhams in Andover being another.
Other than that it’s point and shoot.
100% by the book. If your looking at Stafford yes they’ll take you even if your new.
As long as you can pass the interview and assessment show promise and willingness they’ll buddy you up for a bit to get you started.
Avfcnat82 started there an they helped her with getting going.
At the end of the day you’ve nothing to loose by trying

Gist is a fixed 5 days as I went for interview for Friday to Tuesday. The salary when I went last year was £13 84 an hour. They take half an hour a day for breaks. If you start between 22:00 and 06:00 am it’s +20% on top of that £13.84 and weekends are +25% on top of £13 84. Bank holidays a choice of a day off, day in lieu and double pay for that bank holiday worked or triple pay. If I remember rightly it’s a set route each day and you Rota through the week.
I work at Culina Stafford. We had one lad left just before xmas and go to Gist Crewe. And he’s come back last .month. the rates were better but he was averaging only 8hrs a shift and he lives
in Stafford . It’s not all long shifts you get one or two and tend to give you an easy one on your last shift.
I did agency for years and agency for Culina then went t on the books. It’s the easiest job I have had it’s what you make it. And every company will have moaners. It’s a salary job get on with it get back and home. Or you can do nights out some runs require it
Parking paid. No body pesters you during the day .

The hardest I worked was at a popcorn factory in Leicester where I loaded with pallets which were about 100kg each and I had to wheel them from the back to the front.
Was it a loose load?

Does culina expect you to do nights out too or can you opt out?

I would say that from my experience of working with Culina if nights out are a problem they aren’t the firm for you. They might not be frequent, they might not be intentional but they will happen, if they are the dealbreaker some of your comments suggest they are I’d look elsewhere.

That can happen with any company not just Culina.
To be fair for all their faults and ■■■■ practices their 100% by the book

Agreed, they are a decent firm. Bit obsessed with overspeeds but as you say by the book. My point was the OP seems extremely keen to avoid nights out, in which case go for Supermarkets or Parcels or whatever, with Culina it’s when not if you’ll do one.

When I was there some drivers never did nights out and they would give nights out to the drivers who use to like them. I remember several times swapping with a driver who was down for a potential night out as I wasn’t bothered one way or another.

I’ve taken me name off the night out list for about a year I’ve not been caught out for one since, like I said you’d be unlucky to get caught out. I know plenty that have never in 10years had a night out .
