Any ideas chaps on what euro work tis company does pay conditions etc etc
I called them a couple of months ago! £28000 a year salary! Nights and Rolling shift pattern and UK and Euro work included in that! I said NO! HTH Most of the Euro work I understood to be Low countries and Germany! Pulling trailers to channel ports and running empty trailers to customers! Mostly Morrisons DC tips!
They do Gibraltar Morrisons,two drivers.
I worked there just before xmas last year…Its an easy job if you can get along with the “lead” driver!! Load sittingbourne…get down to the spanish border…then run on down to la-linea tip gib…load almeria back up drop in either yard go home…Easy work,“lead” drivers get paid a little bit more than the newbies…They run the same way most of the time so the job gets a little bit boring!!
Steve.

Just curious to know what a lead driver is, I’m assuming it’s a driver whose been there quite a while and knows all the runs.
You assume correct…The run down was pretty much the same each trip…change drivers at the same places each time…except they are supposed to know where all the growers are in almeria…If i recall rightly there,“lead” drivers were allocated the same truck (most of the time)…and are/were paid 32k/pa…
Steve…
Stuff that! I wouldn’t double man , share a cab with another guy!! Or anyone else no room!!

Well i would for 32k it’s a straight forward job by the sound of it although probably would become a tad tedious in time.
I rang them ,they have filled the space for euro drivers at the moment, probably still got some uk work going though, i dunno if it’s tramping or what,
From what info i got the kit they use seems decent enough, has the important stuff fitted like AC and built in frigo , although you will be pulling a bigger frigo there’s no guarantee’s that it wont be sealed ect , but double manned for 30-32k ain’t too bad ,for doing runs out to Gib all the time, what crossing to they use for it, Bilbao/santander or Calais ?
Your ■■■■■■ if you dont get along with the other driver though.

True, especially if he’s a different nationality and can’t speak the lingo.
Having already done double manned work for several years, i would imagine that drivers would be paired with several drivers until you found one that you got on ok with , Smoking could be an issue, unless both drivers smoke or dont smoke , snoring another if they snore like and as loud as a pig, then of course there is those few who are a walking biological heath hazard ( those who wont wash) that stink out the cab , I’ve sadly come across those and more ,
For that money I would look at doing it as a double man team with the other half
