Hi Gloves, I’m loving the photos you are posting of trucks based in Settle, Hellifield and the surrounding area. Thank you so much.

You didn’t happen to take any photos of cattle wagons parked up at Hellifield Auction did you, or perhaps trucks based at Gallaber Farm (Hellifield)?

Kind regards
Simon

Several photos for you, taken at Gallaber Farm or in Hellifield, the Volvo F12 had very fine airbrushing on the cab, but impossible to see on the photo. I would not normally have photo’d the Volvo as it usually ran with a fridge/freezer trailer to Spain, but on this particular visit to the Farm Allan had the tipper trailer on. He was off to Peterborough Truckfest and managed to get a load to help pay for the trip rather than running empty!

Hi Barry/Gloves,
Just come back from my hols to see your photos - made my day - all gems - thanks
I’m guessing the photo of Alan’s Volvo was possibly taken in May 1991; when it was entered in Truckfest’s Mobil Custom Truck of the Year Competition.
Derek’s motors were really tidy - If I had to pick my all time favourite truck - A19DWH (White R113 360 with the Task Trailer) would definitely be it.
Really appreciate the time you have taken to post and share these photos.
Cheers
Simon

I did mention to Allan on my visit to Gallaber Farm that normally I would not have photographed his highly decorated truck, the airbrushing unfortunately cannot be seen in the photo. The main reason is that I have tried to concentrate on tipper bodies. Usually Allan’s tractor unit would be pulling a fridge freezer, often to Spain, but on this particular day as you rightly said, he was off down to Peterborough Truckfest and fortunately for him ‘found’ a load to deliver on the way.

I’m pretty sure that’s the one that was being restored up there by the guy who runs Blueline (iirc) Haulage. It was in a load of bits when my dad had the brakes redone on his CF up there.

My dad came from Biggins and he always told me that it was a difficult decision whether to build the station in the town or next to the railway and in the end the railway option won.
