Yvonne de Carlo was voted the most beautiful women, last time I saw her a few years ago, she was in a film with Roy Rogers. He was in his 80’s she must have been the same age, it was a horror film and she was horriffic.

That went right over Larry’s head Dave, obviously far too busy making money than having the time to read literature or watch the film! Got a copy upstairs somewhere, must look it out again one day.
Basically he had a portrait painted of himself, he led a life of debauchery (could have been modelled on H Gill!) and for every bad thing he did the painting aged instead of him. All went pear shaped for him in the end though, a decent film made of it in 1945 with Hurd Hatfield, George Sanders and Angela Lansbury.

Pete.

hiya,
I hate to admit it but travelling under my own steam (driving) is becoming a no no
now I like to go by bus now whenever possible, so these distant shows are out for
me even if you go by train there’s always a certain amount of additional transport
required to get you to the show site and the missus doesn’t like me travelling too
far from home by myself, there are one or two shows near to me that are easy to
get too by car but it’s nearly all new stuff of which I have little interest, I can pop
down to the motorway (a short walk away) and watch new stuff on any day of the
week, I’ve done the Barnard Castle show a couple of times but there’s never many
“antiques” just young drivers showing and continuously polishing new Scanias and
Volvos that have just rolled off the production line, and everybody knows my take
on shiny wagons, they don’t go any better.
thanks harry, long retired.
