Clive Cowern Transport.. Bridgnorth...?

paulduncan:
I have never complained since working there, until he cheated me out of my money… (Evidence of which I have, including a signed statement by Clive Cowern to the Police stating that he would pay).

How did he cheat you out of money??
how did the police become involved ■■
was it because he has’nt paid you money that you are owed and he disagrees??

i don’t know either side just wondered.

i seen that was thinking of applying but it a bit far for me longbridge bham

I have worked for Clive cowern for almost 2 years now and have only good things to say about him and the firm when I started I was employed as a fork truck driver and relief van driver but the weekend before I started I lost my car licence thought my own stupid fault but to my surprise mr cowern kept me on. I lived 10 miles away from bridgnorth and when early mornings where required mr cowern used to dive 20 miles round trip out of his way to pick me up never asking for diesel money. Well 2 years on mr cowern has just put me through my class 2 out of his own pocket sounds like a bad person . In response to the comments made by the “driver” (who has a signed statement form the police about being paid by mr cowern )ill tell you the other side which he mistakenly has not said who thinks its ok to not tip his load at 5pm cus he wanted to leave that day so threw a hissy fit and drove the truck past where he was ment to tip to his home and then wanted paying for the week work he had just done but as everybody at cowerns knows you work a week in hand and we get paid on Thursdays without fail but he thought he was different and wanted paying straight away witch dose not happen so to try and get his own way he tried to hold the truck for ransom dose this sound normal to anybody else cuz it don’t to me and what a waste of police time and to the other comments made by a driver who left, at what stage did you think it was a bad place to work? the first time you came back or the second time when you had to leave and he kept your job open for you and got you back every night or the third or forth or was it because you did not get your way when the brand new scanias came and you wanted one truth hertz and one last thing loans are free of interest, mr cowern makes nothing on them. He just trying to be a good boss looking after his work force

I wish you had your facts straight… When making remarks like you have, It would be decent of you to get the whole story not just the bits tat support your arguement.

Anyway the fact remains that Clive Cowern as not paid the money which is owed and YES the only way to get Mr Cowern to discuss the issue was to take the truck home, 1) to clean out the vehicle and 2) to get him to discuss the issue, but alas he decided to call in the Police and bring around bully boys… to try and scare us into submission… Now the question is… Is that the actions of a stand up guy / Pillar of the community?

This post was submitted in order to inform hard working people out there of issues faced with this company… I can only speak for myself with the evidence that I have to hand… Which is freely available to anyone who may wish to inspect it.

Since posting this topic, there have been others that have recently left this company with the same oppinion and the same experiences.

m8 go for it we are only speaking from experiance we have had with this company go try it for your self :unamused:

johnny:
at the end of the day this post is about a bad haulage operator who is treating us drivers that he employs in a bad way, forget what the guy has in the window of his truck - thats his business, there is a warning here to other drivers not to work for this cowboy, when they cannot get drivers they may change their attitude and give drivers a better deal and a little more respect if someone doesn’t point VOSA in the direction of this post or that company first and have them shut down completely.
my first phone call would be to VOSA if i thought i had been working for a cowboy operator, backed up with detailed information of events, dates, names and vehicle registrations.

thats exactly the idea of the this post to warn drivers the experience we have had there will be other x drivers commenting has soon has i can get in touch with them we are not lying at all nothing i have said or paulduncan is lies we are just making other drivers aware so they no what to expect

stvme2519:
on the 20 quid nights out did he pay ya prking on top of that

he does not pay for parking you have to make do with laybyes or industrial estates :unamused:

All I would like to add is, if you think they are breaking the law, then look for another job and contact VOSA, as I am sure VOSA will sort it out if they have been bending any rules.

Note: I am on no-bodies side as i do not have 100% of the facts so I feel it is not my place to say they have or have not been breaking any laws. I am only saying the above because it is my point of view.

If I needed a job, I’d have no hesitation in working for him, if he’d give me a job.

Just for the record, I’ve known Clive since primary school, we grew up in the same village, and in my opinion, he’s what you’d call a really nice guy.

Not wanting to get into the “he said she said thing” , but he is advertising a job atm on the job centre website with not bad wages

£490 thats a joke most of his wages are bonus related ie when you have a holiday you are entitled to you get your basic which is £300 ie you take home about £235 you loose all your bonus i bet thats not been told to the jobcentre :open_mouth: so if you think its good wages go work for him m8

Alot of other places are the same, ours included, but with less night out money.
This doesn’t necessarily make them a bad place to work.

I bet he ain’t the only bloke paying on a bonus system. There’s a big haulier in Telford that pays the same way.

So, when you went for your interview, did they explain to you the pay structure? and if you didn’t like it, then why take the job and ■■■■■ about it afterwards?
Why not just say “Thanks but no thanks”, and go somewhere else to work.?

Beats me.

sounds to me like he talks sense he’s tried the bonus scheme realised there was no way he was going to make his money and did walk.

whats wrong with that. :unamused:

Yepp thats right Kate, theres plenty that dont pay parking and never have, the firm Im on for dont, unless theres authorisation on grounds of a valuable cargo. But all of this is told straight from the get go, so if someone says they want the job, thats that or they turn it down.
