Clive Cowern Transport.. Bridgnorth...?

As you know this - can you tell me what happened at Truckfest - I’ve only heard the rumours and would’nt mind knowing the truth?

IN REPLY TO WHAT HAPPENED AT TRUCKFEST A YOUNGER MEMBER OF CLIVE COWERN TRANSPORT WAS GETTING PICKED ON BY SECURITY GUARDS THE YOUNG LAD WHO WAS SLIGHTLY THE WORSE FOR WEAR AND MAY I ADD NOT A TROUBLE MAKER WAS JUST IN THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME CLIVE AND SOME OF THE DRIVERS WERE WALKING BEHIND THE LAD TRIED TO CALM THE SITUATION BUT THE SECURITY GUARDS WERE NOT HAVING ANY OF IT THOSE SECURITY GUARDS WERE JUST LOOKING FOR TROUBLE WOULD YOU STAND THERE AND LET THEM USE YOU LIKE A PUNCH BAG? JUST A FOOTNOTE ON THIS ISSUE THE POLICE WERE NOT PUTTING THE BLAME ON ANYBODY FROM CLIVE COWERN TRANSPORT THE ONLY REASON THEY HAD TO LEAVE THE SITE WAS JUST IN CASE THERE WOULD BE ANY REPERCUSIONS FROM ANY OF THE SECURITY GUARDS

Fair enough - can I ask how you are involved with Clive?
I’ll be honest I have no personal experience with him or his firm other than seeing his trucks out and about - I’m just commenting on what is being said - and to be honest it doesnt sound too good, does it? Even if a driver is a trouble maker - do they deserve items to be thrown at them?

I HAVE WORKED FOR HIM FOR 12 YEARS AND BELEIVE ME IF HE WAS AS HES BEING DESCRIBED HERE I WOULD HAVE QUIT 11 YEARS 11 MONTHS AGO THE DRIVER WHO CLAIMS TO HAVE HAD A PHONE THROWN AT HIM DID NOT BUT AFTER BEING TOLD A NUMBER OF TIMES TO KEEP THE WINDSCREEN CLEAR IN THE CAB AND FAILING TO DO SO CLIVE CLEARED IT HIMSELF IT WASNT AIMED AT THE DRIVER JUST OUT OF THE TRUCK

on the 20 quid nights out did he pay ya prking on top of that

MANDS_SMODD… You are obviously up the rear end of Clive and if you know me then your comments need to retracted…

I have never complained since working there, until he cheated me out of my money… (Evidence of which I have, including a signed statement by Clive Cowern to the Police stating that he would pay).

Yes he does get stuck into the work around the yard, but as for treating drivers with respect and looking after them, I witnessed him treating a “Senior South African Driver” with compete contempt over and issue caused by the contracting client. The driver didn’t receive any appology from Clive or the client after being treated like ■■■■… Even after being shown the evidence.

Yes he lends money to a driver if needed, but at what rate of interest…■■

I’m still waiting to be paid and nothing you say will detrct from the fact thet he thinks he is above the law… Be careful about what you say without evidence… as we have plenty.

I have worked for Clive cowern for almost 2 years now and have only good things to say about him and the firm when I started I was employed as a fork truck driver and relief van driver but the weekend before I started I lost my car licence thought my own stupid fault but to my surprise mr cowern kept me on. I lived 10 miles away from bridgnorth and when early mornings where required mr cowern used to dive 20 miles round trip out of his way to pick me up never asking for diesel money. Well 2 years on mr cowern has just put me through my class 2 out of his own pocket sounds like a bad person . In response to the comments made by the “driver” (who has a signed statement form the police about being paid by mr cowern )ill tell you the other side which he mistakenly has not said who thinks its ok to not tip his load at 5pm cus he wanted to leave that day so threw a hissy fit and drove the truck past where he was ment to tip to his home and then wanted paying for the week work he had just done but as everybody at cowerns knows you work a week in hand and we get paid on Thursdays without fail but he thought he was different and wanted paying straight away witch dose not happen so to try and get his own way he tried to hold the truck for ransom dose this sound normal to anybody else cuz it don’t to me and what a waste of police time and to the other comments made by a driver who left, at what stage did you think it was a bad place to work? the first time you came back or the second time when you had to leave and he kept your job open for you and got you back every night or the third or forth or was it because you did not get your way when the brand new scanias came and you wanted one truth hertz and one last thing loans are free of interest, mr cowern makes nothing on them. He just trying to be a good boss looking after his work force

The man’s a living God, I did not think they were any left in transport, I feel humble.

I suppose it proves there are 2 sides to every story and 2 ends to a baseball bat :stuck_out_tongue:

This is all beggining to look like a bad dose of sour grapes to me. I lived in Kidderminster - 14 miles from Cowerns yard for may years and worked for several local firms until a few years ago. Whilst I was aware of Cowerns, I never worked for them - but I never heard a bad word said either which in itself tells me an awful lot.

I’ve never worked for Clive Cowern, but what has been written by ‘the real stig’ and mands_smodd seems to be more like the Clive Cowern I know, than anything anybody else has written.
If I needed a job, I’d have no hesitation in workng for him, if he’d give me a job.

Just for the record, I’ve known Clive since primary school, we grew up in the same village, and in my opinion, he’s what you’d call a really nice guy.
