Here’s a picture for you chaps around clitheroe, it’s my brothers Foden and she works around north yorkshire, ■■■■■■■ and some parts of lancashire doing mostly tar and aggregates. She’s just recently been refurbed and still works 24 hours a day 7 days a week when business demands have to be met with no problems at all.
Just posted this photo on Foden tipper site as well, Bradford 2008

Hello Barry, he said he had been talking to somebody who took a photo or two of his motor, when we get a bit more money we’ll be having another Foden with the 450 cat in it for me to drive and make it just like that one.
shirtbox2003:
You might have a long wait john I the way things are going with the quarries and old Fodens fetching top bucks these days.
Hello shirtbox2003, we might not be able to buy exactly what we want but as with all things in life - where’s there’s a will there’s a way so will be very happy to make one, just get the foden 450 chassis cab and what ever’s on the back get it cut off and weigh it in, then start at the bottom and work our way up and finish off with a brand new body and easy sheet from mr hayton, get her painted up then garnish her with flashing strobes, beacons, reversing camera, chicken box, air horns, spots on roof and a teeny weeny bit of bling and roger dee she’ll do for me, new wagons ? who wants em.

Hiya Barry great oldies there That blue Merc was Crazy Horse
And jennings cab ERF is the motor I had when I started at the funny farm.(Smiths)
Take care.
Remember when Ruttle plant removed all the overburden from the East end of Bankfield quarry. They extended into what is now the old Horrocksford quarry and they also removed Propshaft Hill which led down into the quarry to load 40 mm and over. Those yellow dumpers replaced the old Euclid dump trucks. It looks like the you took the photos outside the old Dumper garage? Colin Primrose and Mark Wilson worked their and another lad who got sacked for Borrowing diesel

Remember Colin Primrose from years back. He was always busy, servicing at Waddington Fell, Miles Fox. Gornalls and Bankfield and possibly many other places when I knew him, with his overburdened Merc van, full to the top with all his paraphenalia. What a wonderful memory he had for all things truck or plant, is he still around?
The photos are from Bankfield, the first 4 dated 2000, the latter 4 dated 2009
Hi Gloves. Not to sure if Colin is still around? He must be knocking on late 60,s Not seen him for at least 10 years, but I still see Mark Wilson. Colin had a Land Rover when I first met him, a cracking bloke who wanted every job to be spot on. When I learnt the trade of fitting, Colin would show me at Foxs Duck street yard, how to strip down the brakes and kingpins on Seddon Atkin 400 and it all had to be clean before it all went back ,even painting the back plates before the brakeshoes went back on Topbloke
Hello chaps,
Haven’t been on here for ages I’ve been flat out with the night work doing inter-county tar deliveries to the various dual carriageways and motorways etc, been working out of bankfield, Clitheroe recently at night and so proud to actually take loads out of there just like I did with my dad back in the 70’s when I was at school and the memories of wagons and drivers back then that people talk about now just come back to me like it was yesterday, I’m just happy to be taking part in working out of there it’s like I’ve gone full circle after driving all over the country.
Anyway there is a 3rd vehicle now to go with the foden and the Daf and will put a photo on here soon when she’s done.
