Uncle use to drive for steevos will see if he got any photos.
Perhaps they will come full size!
Hiya if you resize your photo’s on photobucket or where ever they will come the size you requested on the photo site.
ive put some of mine on to big so resized them and its put them correct on TN.
John
The basic Photobucket programme like wot I’ve got only provides back-up. I can turn the photos in my files but they still come out either wrong size or sideways when I upload them. Maybe I should actually PAY for a better programme?

So let’s see if this works…0
Not quite as planned- got to work out how to post it full size.
The only way I’ve found to get a bigger size is after I’ve scanned it, scan it again but this time outlining the photo.
Thanks for the tip but my gear doesn’t allow me to outline the photo.
I’ll get there eventually. Hopefully!
Hi
I wonder if anyone remembers Buckley Tankers of Warrington? My Dad, Eddy Jones, drove for them. He collapsed in his cab on Sunday June 16th 1974 and was taken to Warrington Hospital where he died later that day, aged 37. I’m the oldest of his 5 children, and he died the day after my 17th birthday. I remember one of the drivers was called Albert Bennett, who lived in Runcorn. We lived in Widnes? I think Buckley Tankers is no longer in business. Hope no one minds my posting, and I think this is a fab site. x

Buckley Tankers became part of TDG along with R.T.S, Rankin, Cleveland tankers etc etc

Hi R.O.F.
I’ve waved a wand over your pics for you.
Nice pics, and I remember RH Stevens.
The only RH Stevens driver I can remember is Mark Renner, but it must be about 10yrs since I last saw him.
Thank you very much for the info, and for the fantastic photos. It’s a long time since I saw a Buckley’s Tanker, and I remember when my Dad let me into the cab how really high up it was, and what a great feeling it was being in there! Thank you x

Many thanks, Dave. If you can clone your magic wand just pop it in the post for me!
The name Mark Renner rings a bell but I can’t put a face to it.
Stanfield:
A couple of Buckley tankers here for you laineyf and welcome to Trucknet.
Hi all. The yard on Howley Lane in Warrington is still running, under the Norbert umbrella now. I think back in the day of your dad working there, firms like Irvings, Robsons of Carlisle, Bridgewater Transport Services and Buckleys shared the same yard. They were a big firm and by all accounts, paid well (think they used to do the caustic out of ICI, nasty stuff)

Buckley tankers had Atkinson 8 rigids , and i think some flats that pulled drawbars . Are not Gussion the big tanker haulers in that area now . thank you trevor
Thank you very much for the information. I do remember Bridgewater Transport Services vaguely. I know that Buckleys carried some nasty stuff, because I remember my Dad’s tanker had warnings on it. It’s a shame that these companies have disappeared now. I know my Dad’s plan was to be a tanker driver until he retired, he loved his job, loved being on the road. Thanks to everyone for helping me to remember x
Bridgewater Transport - Green Atkis if I remember correctly?
When I first hauled into Manchester Docks there seemed to be dozens of them around.

The “thing” labelled a scanner, is still in its box…3months old, and I still do not have the time to unwrap it!..Let alone move, (finish), the converted Cow shed into my office…and the VAT is due…oh heck!
Cheerio for now, (how I envy your expertise on these electronic do dahs)!!
Cheerio for now.
If it can’t be done with a socket set & a big hammer, leave it to an expert.
Or the eight-year-old next door!

I think Bridgewaters ran a fleet of green transcontinentals. They sounded sweet
