Fieldings up and running again, albeit with a much smaller fleet. So much for the “Scant regard for the law” that the TC referred to in the Hours & Records case a while ago!

his uncles worked on the trucks jack and ray…bill was his dad.

the yard was along a narrow lane off the main road.this is where the new houses are now standing,

Think it was also CTS Cheshire Transport Services and the wagons were in Tilcon livery.

Does anyone remember Hackney’s running this Mercedes LP1924, taken at the Chelford Show in 1973.
Can remember Edge from saltney by Chester having some before they moved to Wrexham. And i believe Farrells at kelsall had some too thank you Trevor
This former F. Hackney ( Sandbach ) Volvo FH tractor unit was enjoying the sunnier climate of Malta when I snapped it , about 6 years ago. It was delivering fresh water around the island.
Sorry the photograph is blurred , - it is a copy of the ( much-clearer ) original.
Hiya…i’ve just found a gem of a photo, but i don’t know how to move it.

Hi, (1st post) I cut my class 1 lorry driving teeth working for Eddie Riley from Kingsley (BettR haulage) 25 yrs ago - he was certainly one of a kind Eddie
I take it this is the one you mean, at first glance it could be in his yard just as you went in on the left where the wash bays were, only a glance though

No probs
I noticed today that Abbey roadtanks have got some off R H Stevens tanks.transportphotos.com
Here’s one that moved over John. Wouldn’t have taken a lot of repainting.
Yes the couple I have seen still had the pinky coloured running gear and the Abbey logos,+ you could still see the outline of Stevens logo on the tank.
Abbey bought the powder tank part of R H Stevens when they packed it in. I wouldn’t have thought it was worth a fortune as the tractor units were on lease and most of the trailers had seen better days.
I noticed one night this week that a Macclesfield Abbey driver was having a “night out” in the entrance to Stevo’s former yard. The closed curtains weren’t fooling me!
