Yes they did ROF,I remember being in a long line of motors on the Dock Road,T/Park,all leading through the Dock Gate arch,Bridgewaters never joined the line,they took priority,Trannies and Atkies!!

Those were the days! But it was usually quicker to clear Manchester Docks than Liverpool, especially if there was some sort of dispute happening.

There was always some dispute or another,especially on King Edward dock,used to take grain elevators there,had to unload them myself,

Does anyone on here remember a bulk haulier from the Crewe area by the name of John Marsden? I sold him my F10 (YDF 342S) in 1979 and never saw it again which is unusual as all of my previous motors which I sold appeared in some guise eventually!

Hiya we built 3 vans and put them onto Bedford KM’s for Hollands cheese at Jennings in Sandbach. i remember one came back after a while
a cheese rolled forward and crashed through the headboard.as you said bright red with black chassis

I can remember a Foden 8 legger fridge van with i think a S34 cab around 1966 ,it may well have been built by Jennings . thank you Trevor

thats rite john drivers galore worked there some couldnt stick the pace 20 drops average loads my uncle was in the wharehouse and my cousin was in the garage one of cheshires see em everywere.

they were taken over by an irish company. mitchelstown creamery. then and now john bailey runs it from the last depot hollands had at caveley cheshire

trevor pie we go back some years ago when he worked for the milk marketing board from the creanery at crudgington we would meet at the truck park in rugby we had good times in the pubs there not seen him for years now only his trucks when im on the train going to shrewbury for a day out he also does work out of the cheese place on crewe gateway ind est

Hello doby . i seem to see Trevor Pye on the M5 when ever i go down to Devon , i think they still do timber work as well . Do you remember Jones transport from Ellesmere they had red wagons used to have Guys and Aecs they came to the Crewe area as well so maybe they did cheese work as well just remembered Trevor Pye does dairy work for that German company in Market Drayton . thank you Trevor

yes trevor, jones tpt from cockshutt used to load out of lever bros port sunlight too ,i loaded in there and vandenburghs across the road wen i worked for vick wild had a gleave tpt truck first then a foden in north shropshire tpt colors as vick baught them spent many hours waiting to load in shotton steen works after collectong trailers off trung from soton loaded with fruit (jersey growers) 10…12 drops round manchester blackburn & liverpool markets then load for the trunk 20 hours most days the good old days

Hello doby , i can remember North Shropshire in Shotton took steel to the ford transit plant in Southampton and return to Shotton with baled scrap . They had ERFS as well , and i nthink they had the odd dodge too . An old mate tells me that Jones of Cockshutt had most of the work from this area out of lever bros , very tidy fleet would be good to see some photos on this thread thank you Trevor .
