CB Radios

No, can’t be bothered to deal with dicks like this. I’ll leave you to carry on being childish, and just hope you have a half decent solicitor for when someone’s airplane/helicopter digs a hole in someone’s face due to your idiotic behaviour.

I think those big model helicopters are neat. Don’t see how someone having one makes them a self abuser  . I wish I had more hobbies and past times. I like my mountain bikes but I’m getting lazier as I get older.

James the cat:
I wish I had more hobbies and past times.

You don’t really. Instead of having one hobby that I’m good at, I’ve always got lots that i’m mediocre at.

Richard J:
Funny, huh? So if my Heli were to be brought down by some idiot using a cb radio, and landed on his car, or crashed into a member of his family, he’d think it was funny?

I’ve heard it all now…

Won’t somebody think of the children?

No. They can get their own pastimes.

40 channel basic does the damage whether your on a.m. for the boat traffic,or fm for the rest of you…ive 1 of these wrapped up in the cupboard at home which apparantly is the dogs doodaahs.its meant to get everything from smokey and the bandit to lancaster bombers coming back from berlin.(no doubt conor will be along to tell me how wrong i am with that),unused for a few years, but the most satisfying use ever for it,is in the knowledge that theres not 1 toy aeroplane flying, anorak trainspotter ,out on a sunday with his fellow fannies playing with their planes is safe from it…its always so satisfying watching some herberts lifetime of solitude and self abuse go flying off into the sunset till its out of range or alternatively doing a stuka type kamizazi dive straight into the ground…either way the result is the same…if anyones feeling frivolous with a cpl hundred quid by all means gives a shout…banzaiiiiiiiiiii…

Now that is a bloody silly comment…a model aircraft going out of control thanks to plonkers like you could do an immense amount to cars, property, people, etc. I fly rc helicopters…at a cost of in excess of £3000+. If you brought that down due to your childish behaviour, I would be coming looking for you.

For God’s sake, grow up…

i rest my case…
id be the guy in the van looking the other way pretending it wasnt me…

it starts as it ends…how many nights of solitude and self abuse with imaginery friends and blowup dolls have these poor anoraks had in their lonely life…wooly jumpers, manky beards with last nights soup in it,pipe tobacco, skinny rollups, and drowning out those demonic thoughts by drinking home made goosberry wine, and pints of scruddoks old traditional real ale with real toenails…sad but so true.

You get alł that from someone with a model helicopter? Geez  . I’ve a mate who has a couple of those remote control cars but he’s a bit of a dude, also does that crazy kite surfing stuff, likes his boards. I wouldn’t say he’s an anorak. The fancy bugger has a well tidy bird that I wouldn’t mind for myself if he ever fell off a cliff. I’m not jealous or owt. Honest

What do you do then dog on your time off?

My my, you are a precious petal.

Just how hard will you cry when your toy jellywopter gets broken?

A.

This thread has turned into a sack of ■■■■. Smile and agree to disagree.

Punchy Dan:
Ive had some good ones in the past ,uniden Unace 100 ,maxcom 30e ,harrier cbx ,proper Cibernet board models ,a Wilson ,moonraker ,k40, and cireo ariels

Got a CBX on the loft also Fidelity 2000, couple of Radoimobile and Ford road masters, all Cybernet boards
3 Avanti moonraker areals

I’ve got one of these fitted, bought it 'cos it’s AM/FM, the only problem is if I set it for UK It only gives me FM channels, but if I set it for EU/FR/PL etc it will give me AM and FM, so it’s not a lot of use when trying to listen to the boat catchers or our north of the wall brethren. Any ideas anyone?

If you’re bashing the misses about the face with your mini gun I’d hide the scissors. You have to sleep sometime

The rules and regs of CB changed (back in 2013/14 iirc)- The long and the short of it is - you can now use AM and SSB along with FM in the UK.

There are 40 channels of AM and SSB available in the UK - which unfortunately doesn’t mean you can legally use HighHigh through to LowLow (or super-high to super-low, depending where in the UK you are from  from old “legacy” radios (think cobra 148 gtl dx/superstar 360fm, nato 2000’s, etc.)

If your interested: ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/ … 2027.2.pdf

As far as legislation goes, CB/taxi/ham radio is exempt from the hand-held regs, if its not capable of transmitting on any of the frequencies listed:
(d)“two-way radio” means any wireless telegraphy apparatus which is designed or adapted—

(i)for the purpose of transmitting and receiving spoken messages; and

(ii)to operate on any frequency other than 880 MHz to 915 MHz, 925 MHz to 960 MHz, 1710 MHz to 1785 MHz, 1805 MHz to 1880 MHz, 1900 MHz to 1980 MHz or 2110 MHz to 2170 MHz; and

(e)“wireless telegraphy” has the same meaning as in section 19(1) of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949(2).”

You could be done for driving without due care and attention, etc. though, so using common sense if a police HGV pulls alongside you; don’t be waving the mic at the plod videoing you - this could possibly end up with you being stopped and given a ticket, which wouldn’t be the brightest idea

I think CB radio coming back to UK trucks would be a great idea, but only smallish fleets and OD are likely to have them in the trucks - these have regular drivers usually, unlike the large-fleet operators (who are H&S nutters and would not allow them to be installed in the truck as they “might interfere with the telematics system” or some such BS!)

EddieMD:
Just a random post really, with all the hype about using your phones while in a vehicle could it be an idea to go back to using CB Radios?

I already use a CB radio but I can’t work out how to text the wife to tell her to get my tea on with it.
