Got a change from the mk 2 11 plus, back onto a lohr ehr 301,i think it is more versatile for larger vehicles, but not as good as a TE evo 4/5 11 plus, and i hav’nt got any skids to struggle with.
A couple of photos of this weeks loads

pleased to hear your back to work peter mite see you in Nissan. Ps looking at the first photo you can still get them washed haha .

you cant expect me to put my poorly hands in water Davy, what about my arthritis.
Heres a photo of someone you will know,he was mortal singing "DANNY BOY"looking for his son who was outside spewing up his tenth dandelion and burdock / eggnog chaser, this was taken xmas eve at the yearly ex Glendinning drivers p**s up.Its the only time i get out these days, with all my ailments, but i’m not one to moan.

think the bmw covered in trucks had rolfo trailers glenny ■■?

glenny54:
i know what the power of them range rovers is like, but for me luckily, it was the scissor deck not the peak,i had a lohr ehr at the time,on them that deck has d’s that the front or back wheels drop into, well i’d reversed it on with the front wheels touching the d’s(if i’d just rolled forward a couple of feet forward of the d’s),anyway i gave it some pedal, did’nt move, gave it some more, did’nt move, gave it even more!!!the bloody thing took off, shot back,i felt the front of the scissor deck drop, there was another r, rover behind the cab,i thought christ 2 r,rovers damaged.
Well i got out to have a look,i could’nt believe what i saw, there was a dent near where the number plate goes,it looked nothing it had’nt even cracked the new paint.
It was going to upper heyford for storage,i thought about leaving it on but concience got the better of me,took it off and reported it,i was later told over £1,ooo damage,oh well, could have been worse i suppose, seems a lot for one dent, not a mark on the one behind the cab.

i was loading alongside you at the time glenny…dont worry i didnt mention it to any other drivers…!!!

Gareth, those trailers were all Kassbohrer’s - me and Blacky went to the factory in Austria to collect them.

I guess you boys still use the greasy glove to cover any blemishes that happened on route

I used it many a time and got away with it. ssshhhhhh

You have no chance of doing that these days.

I had to train and validate a driver in Honda when I was at MVT. He was completely crap but had driven transporters before which is why he got the job (don’t ask - Irish logic).

He loaded the top decks while I was watching and told him to wait before he put any more on whilst I went to the toilet. Needless to say he didn’t wait and when I returned he had two more on but the one that was reversed behind the cab (on a Rolfo Pegasus) had grease all over the underside of the front spoiler. At that point, Burger Bob appeared and spat the dummy right out, the driver claiming that the grease was already on the car, etc, etc. The spoiler was badly scuffed, the whole load had to be taken off and the driver was barred from Honda.

When I checked my emails later that day there was a claim from a dealer in Northern Ireland for a front bumper very badly damaged and with so much grease on that the dealer had taken two hours to steam clean it off.

You’ve guessed - same driver, same method of camouflage. There is no moral to this story as everyone will still try and get away with damage unless you’re honest - like Glenny!

Haweh jeff, the more the merrier

Paul so even though the driver was supposed to be experienced he obviously had never been in Honda before to even think of trying to get away with a trick like that with bob hanging around lol

only just signed up but would like to ask all of you out there if anyone has any photos of dependable delivery, i started at folkestone depot in 1977 and do have one or two but would love to see some early ones from both the 50"s and 60"s if possible. my father worked for mr sharp who owned dependable delivery"s untill autocar took them over, they had depots in folkestone, luton, ellesmere port and at one point in northern ireland so i would like to view any early photos if anybody has any.
Many thanks.
