Here an old Abbey Hill/Walon unit seen at HCVS Rally Brighton in 1990 as transport for an entrant.
STOLEN Ex ANSA DAF EUROLOHR from compound in South Yorkshire Monday night 9th January. Has anyone seen this vehicle i know that there are a few in circulation, this one was probably on the road under the cover of darkness Monday night Tuesday Morning. Also a number of wheels & tyres taken.
Mick (tight pants) taylors daf and (i think) kassbohrer covered transporter, delivered bmw’s direct to customers!!!even customers homes, but also cream show loads into europe etc.

I’ve got an abundance of nostalgia, just waiting for a new lead so I can scan my old photos and post them here.

Here’s a couple of recent photo’s…
At least with auction cars you can cram them on a bit (well, when you’ve said you can get all eleven on, you have to make the effort).
And, as all transporter drivers say, it was JUST under 16’.
very nice Paul, now get your scanner on the go please.
Whats the height with the galaxy on the peak?

It looks higher but was 16’ as the Scania is a really low cab so it looks worse than it is. Even with the Galaxy peaked up you still can’t see the rear bumper from the normal driving position because of the Scania’s windscreen being almost vertical. The load was from Wimbledon to Leicester and arrived without any tree scratches or otherwise although they were all high mileage or very old used cars, so how can you tell anyway?
I guess you boys still use the greasy glove to cover any blemishes that happened on route
I used it many a time and got away with it. ssshhhhhh
finally back at work after being off for 15 weeks, never had so many aches and pains, and i’ve still got the bloody sciatica i had in the first place but heyho,as anybody who knows me ,i’m never one to complain .
Got a change from the mk 2 11 plus, back onto a lohr ehr 301,i think it is more versatile for larger vehicles, but not as good as a TE evo 4/5 11 plus, and i hav’nt got any skids to struggle with.
A couple of photos of this weeks loads
