Can Dash Cam footage be used to report another driver?

Be very careful Tris. They may decide your observation and anticipation skills are poor.
They may also think you have no respect for RIDGID trucks. What the hell are RIDGIDS anyway…lol.

Spend a tenner and get a spare SD card. Sell the footage and make a few quid.

Where there’s blame, there’s a free pint [emoji1]

Always a tricky one Tris, is it really worth it, is your own driving above reproach, was there really that much danger.

What really pulls my ■■■■■ is youtube drama queens making a meal of or creating situations for their own ego.
Please post the footage so a full and proper judgment can be made…

Can’t post it as its on the company dash cam, so can’t access it. I’d like to see the footage myself. As to the danger both myself and the oncoming artic driver thought it was dangerous by our reactions. If the old bill had witnessed it I can guarantee he’d have been in court for dangerous driving.

Artic drivers are even worse drama queens than cyclists, would be good if the other driver had a dashcam also and posted the footage.

Sounds like a common expected hazard though, something the group of pro drivers involved should be able to sort out themselves. Probably by pulling over and giving each other a good ■■■■■■■, now that I would pay to see.

Of course you would you dirty old man :stuck_out_tongue:

First off I’m not going to report the driver I’m thinking of, just wondered if it is submisable as evidence that could be used to convict? I’d just pulled out of Newark Cattle Market on the A46 heading for the A1 and a [zb] in a ridgid cut me up where a dual section turned into single carriage way, braked, then a Warburtons ridgid (I didn’t even see him as I was braking for the first prick) overtakes me on the chevrons causing an oncoming artic to emergency stop. He flashed him and I blasted him, but in all seriousness he deserved a good a kicking and stripping of his licence because he could’ve killed someone driving like that.

And of course because you’re a good driver and was approaching a speed limit change and a lane closure you looked in your mirrors, saw this was going to occur, gave way to the vehicle overtaking you as the highway code required and adjusted your speed so they could get back in instead of keeping your foot down so you could generate some dash cam footage?

Oh wait, you didn’t. Looks like there were three pricks involved in this scenario, not just two.

and the driving god is off on one again! he said he braked for the first one, having had a prick in a 7.5t take my mirror off on the a69 I would say yes submit it and get the ■■■■■■ sacked bread men and their job and knock mentality.

Who gives a duck about the ramifications, just post it on here gee us summit to talk about. Trucknet is boring at the moment.

I’ll second that. No fall outs or anything :frowning:
Where’s boredwivdrivin when you need him?

I heard he was on a romantic break with his Mum.

have to admit too many people are becoming too predictable on here - you can almost write down what most of the op’s will post ( me included possibly ), where has the tension and disagreements gone its only robroy vs truckbling at present.

Sounds to me like you were dawdling.

One rigid maybe. But two rigids in that 150 yard section before the lanes merge?

■■■■■ please.

I wasn’t rushing. Always drive a bit more carefully for the first few minutes when I start the day to get back into the swing of it. They were both driving like côonts.

Get back into the swing of it?! Do you forget how to drive while asleep?!

To be fair, when you start being complacent with anything, mistakes can happen.

Settling in for a few minutes is perfectly reasonable. You don’t forget how to drive, but you can make stupid mistakes simply by being complacent/cavalier/careless.

Funnily enough I was having a chat about this with a colleague the other day.
Especially on a ■■■ the bed early start did it also take him 30mins or so to get fully dialled in.
Apparently it doesn’t and I’m just a twunt.

depending on how tired I was/am it could take hours to get dialled in.

So are we saying if the OP had been a bit more “dialed in” then the chances are this apparent near miss would probably have never happened?

Thats why these dashcams should be taken with a pinch of salt. Only show half a story…

I think we can put this down to the OP acting in a professional manner to avoid an incident, not seeing the other vehicle is a bit of an error but these things happen.

Chalk this one down to a non event, if up to speed the puddle jumper would have bottled it or my personal preference is to put some manners on the ■■■■ early to maintain progress.

I have a feeling dashcam footage would leave the OP open to a virtual arse whopping by our more excitable members (I do love an excitable member) as a few have realised in the past namely big Jessie and fanny mark if memory serves.

Tris:

SWEDISH BLUE:
report it to your Co. Let them deal with it

Nah, can’t be arsed with the hassle, the less contact I have with the office the better.

Given your reply , :arrow_right: : pointless question - pointless thread .

Either man up or buy some tampons :grimacing:
