Comptons of Parkstone Poole had green Scanias 110’s and Volvo F88’s and F12 units then went to 112’s,113’s 143’s and FH12’s had a big auction sold virtually all of them then started again but this time with red and white FH’s.
Used to do mainly traction work for various companies STS, Rawlings, Interoute, BKG,MAT,Sea Route Ferry, Skillbeech, in fact for most of the many trailer companies who used to run out of Poole,Southampton and Portsmouth.
Originally from the same yard many years ago FCF Transport consisted of Ken Flowers, Cecil Compton R.I.P.and Furnell (not sure of his name but his son was Mike R.I.P).
Sean Moran has been around for ages I believe ha worked for SCA whenthey were near Southampton he was definitely on for Sea Route Ferry started with them on a 400 Seddon Atkinson back in the early 80’s I think that he had his own tractor unit for a while and he worked for Mark Compton. I’m not sure what he is doing now but I was told a couple of years ago that he had lost his LGV licence for what reason not sure, but he was driving a 7.5 tonner! Anyone know anymore?
some good old names there Pat, i was on for Mark same time as that Rouges Gallery you named. I Did speak to Sean about 4 yrs ago and im sure he was working with his son doing courior work with a couple of transits. in fact his sister in law only lives 3 doors from me but never see her either Ha.

lespaul, Sorry mate not sure where he is these days BUT we are thinking of orginising a reunion sonetime of all the old team so no doubt we will find him somewhere ha. Should be a good night out, Duffy’s, Comptons, Rawlings, to mention a few. Regards Kev
Hi found these pics of one of mark Comptons Red and White FH’s pictured after it had ploughed into the back of an STS trailer being towed by one of my tractors driven by Larry Fitzgerald between Lisbon and Oporto. I seem to remember the Compton driver only suffered a broken ankle, not bad considering it was LHD!!! Anyone know who that driver was? Larry was ok and had to swap trailers as his was obviously damaged loaded Oporto and came home
Evening Pat, Yeah rem that smash in portugal, The compton driver was 1 Tattoo Terry as we called him.he was a Good mate of John Philips(Billy Cotton). Had a bit of bad news today Pat, One of our lads on Comptons back then called Angus was killed on his motorcycle last wk on A30 between Salisbury and Shaftsbury he would of only been around 40 yrs. R.I.P Angus. He was a good mate of Paul Rutherstone (Waky Baky)
