C COMPTON HAULAGE FROM POOLE DORSET (With Photo's)

Has Sterling packed up Yuppie ?, I presume it must have if Ivana is working for Doman.

Kerbut, Sterling finished a while ago, after i packed in. Ivana still in same office, different name on door.

yep i remember them, they used to ship Portsmouth - Le Harve, at the time I was doing a bit of work for Copine Fish (French Connection) of Portland. They were always lined up in Le Harve waiting for the morning boat when we got there. Used to see a F12 in Comptons colours, but different initial, would that be Mark? I think it was his son? used to pull a low loader, well when i saw it it did. Comptons always had their fleet for sale in Commercial Motor, with ‘ring to view, truck working abroad’'. Years ago i wrote to Comptons asking if they had any pictures of their trucks in red & green livery i could borrow to scan, as i wanted to build a model of one, i got no reply, which i half expected. I still plan to do it, so if anyone has any pics they could show to remind me of the colours and livery, i would be grateful, as my memory is going now!!!
As I said Le Harve was always full of them nighting out, along with CA Stevens, GBE, STS etc etc, all the southern boys.

What was the name of the driver who drove for Copine Fish (Colin Horne) who used an Austin Sheerline as his daily transport ?

Edited, as I have just remembered his name,it was Sam.

Afternoon Dieselcowboy, I Got a load of pictures of the green and red motors we had on Comptons, and also pics of a model i made of one of the Scania’s. As soon as i get a chance i will post them up buddy.
