corker & bevan were from down the strand, next yard up from J&P BEVANS.here,s an Atkinson.
Daibootsy thats brill ! Looks like the forecourt of Bevans awaiting collection … One of my fathers friends seems to think …that Atkinson was named the Happy Wanderer ! …if that rings a bell for you … and they did a lot of stuff for British Aluminium at Resolven …thanks you very much for providing those shots …Geraint .
There’s another blast from the past! Is Mickey Williams still in business?
think his son is running it.
daibootsy:
don’t think T.S.P had anything to do with c/bevan, Geo Beer I think had this dodge on contract to them.
I vaguely recall this one being a fairly new wagon with George Beer, in their red livery, back around 1971. Not 100% certain though. What I do know for certain however is she left the active fleet on 22 September 1978.

Mackie (Malcolm) Williams firm M J Williams (Transport) Ltd. was in liquidation by March 1991 and there was a big dispersal sale down at Withybush. His son acquired several vehicles; Dodge FMJ1T, Foden G778YDE, Leyland Roadtrain D644EHY and ERF E14 F801TDE at least, and continued the business with the letter M of the name on the headboard painted out.
Thanks, Dai & Andrew, I was almost correct in the name!
I worked for a small firm in Pembrokeshire for twelve months or so who had almost exactly the same livery. Shame it all went downhill.
Re M J Williams & J Williams John ran quit a few lorries before going to the wall photos of most of the lorries are on my flickr site RAWs west wales wheels Regards Ron.

I spent a lot of time in West Wales a few years ago Keith, also travelled down their twice a week for four years. Always a lot of interesting wagons around from that area, also coming off the ferries as well. Still go down there a couple of times a year, nice area.
Cheers Dave.
