Hi cc & John smallcoal,
That pic is before they had traffic lights on the old bridge at Newbridge on Wye. As you say it will be strange not seeing their wagons around. When I was travelling to Pembroke twice a week about twelve years ago, I used to wonder why I saw several of their artics parked in the Llanwrda area, and later hear that they had relocated from Llanarth to the Lampeter area.
Cheers Dave.

Up a tree again cc ? D J Thomas , a very smart presentation . What was it with West Wales hauliers , the sign writing , and livery was excellent, you do not seem to see that sort of thing nowadays do you ?
I can remember Thomas with a GUY J artic that hauled skins and hides on behalf of , i think Chetwynds who again were based in Llanarth , may be they still are ? they had MANs also . regards Keith .

Dai , thank you very much for that ,…it has stirred a lot of interest with my father and his comrades …! Some of his older friends can remember TSP ,at the former Imperial smelting at Llansamlet …as well as Metal box .
Even older …have asked anything to do with Corker and Bevan …whom we think were based near the Strand by Superheaters ■■ …Atkinson 8 wheelers with coach built cabs …green livery …and gold signwriting … Many thanks Dai ,…Geraint .

corker & bevan were from down the strand, next yard up from J&P BEVANS.here,s an Atkinson.

don’t think T.S.P had anything to do with c/bevan, Geo Beer I think had this dodge on contract to them.

Cracking pic cc. I used to haul a lot of building materials to Llanidloes in 1968, long before the bypass.
Cheers Dave.

Hey Dave , putting 2 and 2 together , back in 1968 taking materials to Llanidloes would that have been for the Clywedog dam scheme ? At about that same time a mate of mine was bringing Aberthaw cement for the very same project ,a 24/7 job . regards Keith .

No Keith, I was taking materials to the site of a new factory being built, just over the Bridge just up the other road, not the Clywedog road, but the road for Trefeglwys.
Cheers Dave.
