No probs kid …but thanks …,On the JM thread you posted a Merc with a church in the back ground … where is that …? A couple of us are curious down here …to what the location maybe …Geraint .
You are right cc. Whitney on Wye it is.

The Boat Inn … My father says that piece of road before it was by-passed , a lay - by was near to it , and was used occasionally by BRS Swansea change over … He adds that several along that road towards Brecon was used for that purpose …One was with Stoke and Sandbach depots, …the latter with road salt for S Wales . Whilst near Eardisley a BRS Swansea AEC 8 wheeler crashed into a railway bridge …
Just beyond the church in this excellent study in monochrome ,…is the former railway track from Hereford to Brecon …Geraint .

Spot on with the railway line Geraint. It crossed over top of the A438 just past the Toll Bridge about half a mile back from this photo location.
There were change over places in various places in that and the Hay on Wye area’s.
Cheers Dave.
Dave thank you …mention of that toll bridge , one of my fathers comrades says that certain BRS drivers would use it at night time as a short cut to Glasbury ! …despite the weight limit ! …
Another mentions at we think at a pub …at Felinfoel near Brecon a change over with BRS Dudley and also Stoke depot (Tunstall) …steel and ceramics .
Whilst another asks you the question …was there a BRS depot in the Kington area ? …Geraint .

Hi Geraint,
The Pub at Felinfach would have been the Griffin Inn. There was a BRS depot at Kington, which was closed in the late 1950’s. My old boss owned it in the early 1960’s and just used it to dump old cars there. It would have been to tight to get anything bigger than a four wheeler down the lane to access it.
Cheers Dave.

Winforton was a good cafe Dave, now long gone, but the Sun Inn opposite the cafe is still open, as well as the Boat at Whitney on Wye.
Cheers Dave.

Quite possibly Dave. The Sun Inn has changed hands a few times, it seems to be doing OK nowadays. Sam Longsons Fodens and Atki’s used to motor up and down that road in my day, but they couldn’t get by my Bedford KM with a two speed axle.
Cheers Dave.

John Worsley I believe was the driver you are thinking of, I knew him quite well in those days.Sadly no longer with us RIP.
When he finished at The Sun Inn I believe he worked for Andrew Cameron at Letton Court, he drove a new Foden 4000 series on Potato deliveries ect.
Regards Jack.

Was he he the bloke that Mark ''spud ‘’ Preece drove the lorry at his funeral Jack ?

Unusual location for this firm CC, in the home counties Dave Sam Longson would park up at Hay on Wye and also the cattle market in Brecon , i think the Sun at Winforten also did accomadation for drivers .
Mention of Duncan Cameron , are Gorings over at Dorstone still running wagons ? regards Keith .
