The Chinese have just thrown another spanner in the works & are about to ban the export of titanium, Besides all the other rare earth elements they’ve banned & now titanium, the US military industrial manufacturers are going to be screwed.
Japan produces a lot of titanium, but the Pentagon is now scouring the earth for more supplies, As Russia, China & Kazakhstan are the big producers and not friendly with the septics they must be hoping Ukraine has some under their soil.

When are the US going to wake up and realise the problems that Trump and his confrontational style of government are causing. I agree with you that a lot of that kind of stuff needed to be addressed. My concern is though that Trump doesn’t seem to have any filters. He needs to be the main focus of every news cycle and once he has run out of his good ideas (he does have some) the crazy ones surface but he doesn’t seem to be able to control his urge to be controversial and confrontational. He doesn’t seem to have anyone who can give him good advice. He has surrounded himself with a bunch of lap dogs. The concept of divide and rule doesn’t work in the modern world as he (and the American people) will find out to their cost. He/they will soon find out that America needs friends as well as enemies. Do you think that the military industrial complex will stand by and let him disengage America from the rest of the world? Who’s going to provide the early warning signals when his bases in Europe are closed and access to ports are restricted. His outbursts might provide him with short term popularity but that will soon wane when reality hits home for the average American consumer. Surely he can only blame everyone else for so long. Or are the Americans who worship him so gullible they will support him no matter what.

Ukraine post 1989 started to align with NATO , but yhen went to unaligned/neutral status.
That was still the case when Russia invaded Crimea.
NATO is not easily going to accept a new member already in a conflict. An insurance company will not seel you a policy after the fire has started.
Other nonaligned/neutral countries (Sweden Finland) saw what happened in Ukraine, sought and quickly got NATO membership.
If Putain wanted NATO to keep away, his invasion of Ukraine had the exact opposite effect.

Russia has been in severe and worsening economic trouble. In spite of early predictions they are not a vastly more powerful force. Ukraine if given the weapons and allowed free rein might have done even better earlier.
A just outcome will not happen soon.
Trump could go for a quick fix, he is trying just that, but it will likely be a temporary bodge if it goes through. Just a sticking plaster while he lightens Ukraine’s wallet and gives Putain time to get his breath back.
