I didn’t say you are a trump fanboy, but i look at the news and decide what is BS and fake, in my opinion. But at the end of the day he is a convicted felon, accused sexual predator and not a politician. Exactly what SDU says, a narcissist and not smart, he didn’t even understand Pearl Harbor
'Dangerously uninformed’: New book says Trump didn’t know what happened at Pearl Harbor
But hey, we are entitled to our own opinions
That’s fine cos I aint a ‘fan’ (in the true sense of the word) of any politician,.I do not trust any of them, but you have to chose which one you favour when you come to vote.
I do not vote in the US so my (and everybody else’s on here) opinion is I irrelavant anyway.
In the case of Trump the mischevious side of me likes his maverick approach and the fact that he pi55es off the type of people with the type of political leanings that I despise…(as illustrated with one or two on here.who get farrrrr tòoo aereated )
I also like how he puts down the Left, treats them with the contempt they deserve and instantly rids his country of their restrictive and bloody ridiculous policies in a heartbeat so far.
I also like his approach to free speech in a could not gaf what he says style.
So call me an admirer from afar rather than a fan.
Hope that clears up that point.
The felon bit…hmmm not really bothered tbh, I aint a serving member of the Moral Police…(evidently commanded by Franglais after his ‘Superhero’ speech )
Why would it bother ME in fact, when it evidently did not bother those directly involved, the majority of his electorate who voted for him, …who have more to do with all this than any of us on a UK driver forum (one of the reasons again that I find this thread with it’s opinions incredibly amusing )
Trump has made a comeback as big as somewhere between David Beckham and Lazarus which is an achievement in it’s self in my book.
And for somebody you say is NOT a politician, if that is accurate, an even bigger achievement has been made by him getting to the ABSOLUTE and ultimate top of the politician’s tree…again something else that appeals to my weird sense of humour.
As for Pearl Harbor…ok a bit strange that he is ignorant of one of the biggest historical events of his country, but in the realm of things that really matter,…who cares?
He has only been in the job 5 minutes, in the same amount of time Starmer had alienated his OWN countrymen, and the class he is supposed to represent labelled them/us as virtually Nazis…and jailed half of em.
As somebody said just sit back,.watch,.and decide at the END of the day…as will history.
To whom it may concern on here…(although I can not see why anybody should be ‘concerned’ by what I think )
To sun up Trump’s case from MY pov.
I FULLY get it that he is a bit dodgy, understatement or not, that aspect as I say appeals to my soh.
But thing is, as a realist who does not live in Cloudcuckooland,.I realise and fully accept, whether or not it is fair, (because life is NOT) that he and his type are the ones that ‘get on’ in life,.and are usually the ones synonymous with success…that is how me and you drive a f in truck for a relatively crappy living wage, .and he is like it or not is rich,.and succesful in all or most of what he does … . yep keep seething.
AND… president of the US ffs !!
So do what I do with this (and especially with stuff I do not fully agree with it…nor can do anything about.)
Get on with it, stop moaning about it, and deal with it the best you can !
Cheers…now it is ME who has made a speech.
There are plenty of Gen Z’ers in this country who are oblivious to the events of D day and what it meant to Europe.
One day some of that generation could be our politicians and possibly PM
@Gateshead Difference being, Trump was born less than five years after Pearl Harbour being bombed, one of the most significant events in US history. For the oldest Gen Zer, D Day happened more than fifty years before their birth.
Those are big differences when it comes to basic history at school, particularly as the Yanks like to portray themselves as saviours of the world, during WW ll.
To be fair mate, in essence like it or not that is exactly what they were.
That takes nothing at all away from the Brits, Canadian, and Anzac troops even Free French, that made up the Allies who could not have managed alone…fact.
@robroy Granted, but they didn’t do it singlehandedly, as they like to think.
No they certainly did not…but I don’t share that particular opinion tbh mate.
I genuinely feel that in that period of history we have a hell of a lot to thank the US for, …particularly in the UK where if it was not for their intervention, (whatever their agenda) we actually WOULD be Nazis.
I personally will remain forever appreciative of them.
Eileen Workman is an author and essayist, who previously spent 16 years in the financial industry as First Vice President of Investments at a major Wall Street firm, until she had a spiritual awakening and left that field. She has worked with Trump, and now offers this about him:
"I know a little something that so many do not appreciate about Donald Trump, but that those of us who worked with him in the financial services game have known for many decades—long before he ever made a run at national politics.
"His stated motives rarely reveal his true agenda. His showmanship and charisma bedazzles the uninformed, which is exactly how he likes it. He never signed a contract or met an agreement he wouldn’t violate or wriggle out of if it suited his hidden agenda. He never met an investor whose purse he didn’t consider his own in some strategic way. And he never met a human being he wouldn’t screw in order to advance or satisfy himself.
"If you want to understand his beef with Panama, don’t look at the canal to which he now points. Look at Trump enterprises and their fraught financial and criminal relationship with Panama, and look to the Russian oligarchs who bought condos in his Panama Tower. If you want to understand his fixation with Gaza, don’t look at the Palestinian or Israeli people; look at the real estate value he now perceives that Gaza holds, and he’d like to unlock. If you want to understand his insane, obsessive beef with energy renewable windmills, don’t look at the wind energy aspect; look at his beef with Scotland over his golf course and the nearby windmills that damaged his idea of its aesthetics.
"If you want to understand his irrational hatred of Obama, don’t look at the policies of the Obama administration; look to the annual press corp dinner where Obama poked fun at him and bruised his ego. If you want to understand his demonization of Democrats, look not to Democratic social policy, but to the fact they didn’t want him to run under color of their party. If you want to understand his hatred of “immigrants” don’t look to the actual contributions and challenges related to immigration, but to his own germophobia and personal disgust for all things “dirty and brown.”
"What he does SO masterfully, as many sociopaths do, is figure out how to align, however temporarily, his own personal agenda with the drives of those he can then USE to help him execute it.
"And the GOP fell right in line with that abusive strategy. The GOP now looks much like a battered wife who would love to quit Trump, but who also knows their financial security, personal comfort, and social status would collapse if they ran away. And they fear they won’t get much sympathy or support from the people who tried to warn them not to marry the dude—a serial, liar, cheater, thief, sadist, and a generally Bad Person.
"Many of the GOP politicians today are busily masking their own abuse from the general public; at some point, however, as they watch their power continue to erode, their reputations get smashed, and themselves get blamed for the extensive abuse they now suffer, something’s gonna give.
“I don’t know what it is, but every bone in my body feels an energetic convergence heading toward a massive, MASSIVE explosion—coming soon.”
Me too!
The US have for decades been the strong foundation of NATO.
Such a pity that the current POTUS has taken such a different attitude to all of his predecessors of both US parties.
Wowsers !
A post from Franglais that I completely agree with on all points…whatever next?
Call me on my guard, call me paranoid but…Were you assuming I had so much of a (tenuous) admiration of somebody, or misguided alliegance that I would readily argue with you against, or argue for, any damn thing he did or did wrong?
How little you know me.
Blind immovable misguided loyalty aint my forte mate.
Our (national) circumstances probably differ. We also would have been talking Japanese, without the Yank’s help, but MacArthur in the Pacific theatre sent Diggers to battles he didn’t think could be won and saved the easier fights for his own troops. He also claimed Australian victories as American.
My view of all Yank’s may be skewed because of MacArthur’s actions.
All Allied forces had different talents, your mob seemed to be particularly good at espionage and deception, the Yanks were good at providing arms etcetera.
Without a doubt the Yanks entry was the turning point, but you lot, the French and Low Countries, Poland, Canada, Russia and Australia made a significant contribution.
I try to differentiate between the US and Trump, and between Russians and Putain.
Yeah ok I can see it from your pov if what you say about Mcarthur is true…I believe you btw.
Yeah?
I just accept that at least one is there because of a democratic vote, even if the other one is not.
I aint a big fan of one of them in particular, but I tend to just accept and get on with stuff I have no control over, rather than make an unnecessary and derisory song and dance…unless of course (and obviously) they have an adverse effect on me and mine…as I am sure I have said before.
Bully Trump and his henchmen harassed this man Michael Forbes and his elderly mother for years including bulldozing a huge earth bank round there property also deliberately cut their mains water supply off.
Ok…but what would you expect from a ruthless hard nosed businessman?
I’m sure there are numerous examples like this.
All it does is vindicate what I say…that is why he is where he is.
Again…not saying it is right or fair, but…well you know the rest.
I am (still) amazed that people find this stuff sooo surprising to the point of keep pointing it out as if we should be shocked.
Remember Janey Godley? Glaswegian publican and comedian.
She died from cancer last year but her Trump protest was remembered after her death.
You would soon change your mind if came to your door step. You’re not a fan but give no end of excuses for defending him.
So we are playing the sentiment card hoping to pull a few delicate heart strings now eh?..nah not mine.
Yeah he may well be a ■■■■,.(as I can also be sometimes with certain people) …does not alter the fact the guy is succesful. (And I aint )
Jeez we are really scraping the barrel now with the hate a thon
