BRS DEPOTS

Suttons Tony:
Now I think about it we used to do a weekly time sheet, this was white with black lines and letters could this have been an OPs6? we of course also did a daily log sheet both tended to be a work of creative fiction…Tony.

Tony J.K.Rowlings would have jealous of some of the creativity on the old log sheets as they usually were made out on Sunday after a good session at lunch time    :unamused: they were done then so as the office received a clean copy with no grease on :unamused: :unamused:

Trev_H:
The defect sheet was numbered ops 13. will still have them today, there is also an expense sheet which may be ops 11? yes suprisingly although the company has changed names several times :open_mouth: and the paperwork has seen a few design changes, they all still carry ops numbers.
I remember filling out the ops 6 in BRS days and recording the weight carried, miles run empty etc. we still had them as late as the mid 80’s for drawing fuel at Dundee, Lockerbie and the Golden fleece on Scotch trips !

Trev we used to have a book for fuel in triplicate which could be used at garages as well as all BRS and Pickfords depots and I think it was " Road Purchase Order " when we started going over the water it was UTA book, DKV and Euroshell cards .
cheers Johnnie

hiya,
I never seemed to do a lot of empty running but as you say “running empty”
mileage was recorded separately, I used to describe the Ops6 as Billy’s Weekly Liar.
thanks harry, long retired.

Would I be correct in saying the BRS Cardiff depot was in Bute Street, I delivered soap pwder there in the 60s from P&Gs Newcastle for re-delivery to the re-tailers in that area, The good old old days Eh, Regards Larry.

hiya,
Chris I think it was in the Swansea North dock area, but can’t for the life in me
remember the street/road name fuelled up and backloaded out of there on the
odd occasion but mainly when down that way we used Newport their traffic was
a lot more North West and North East orientated.
