Good or Bad?
Taxes may rise? But jobs could be saved? Along with steel for our own industries safeguarded, IE defence manufacturing. And no cheap importing of chinese steel.
if the gov get their hands on it the steel will be sold of cheap to china for us to buy theirs at a more expensive rate. The worry is what is this new law they have squeezed through in seconds. what powers does it give them over other british companies? is this the end of public travel. is it a way of finding work for all the illegals that have flocked to our shores.
Net zero and steel manufacturing are mutually exclusive.
No coal industry no steel industry.Or at best a steel industry dependent on imported coal.
im supprised none of the boris haters have been on trying to blame him for this.
Looks to me like it is a bad situation, and the steps being taken are necessary.
Steel production is needed for defence as well as to give a stable base for industry in the UK.
Selling it off to any foreign interests is, at best unwise, and selling to a non close-ally is foolish, or worse.
Will it put up the cost of taxes? I doubt it. In the scheme of things the expense is not that great.
Personally I would willingly pay a bit more in taxes to get better infrastructure in the UK.
I think our taxes are too low already. You get what you pay for.
So at the eleventh hour this proactive shower of poop have taken control of British Steel. Oops it may be that the blast furnaces become useless as there is a shortage of fuel to hand to keep them going. Well done that man.
Says it all really. Governments love mugs like you.
What do you want then? Zero taxes?
Easy enough to achieve if that is really wanted.
Of course the chant âwe pay too much to the Govâ is a simple message.
as i said it has noting to do with british steel they just wanted an excuse to pass law so they can seize control of any company that doesnt play be his rules. good excuse to smash up what little industry we have and replace it all with pie in the sky dreams and hospitality.
Heâs no mug heâs a red flag waving Commy which is far worse.
What has tax and infrastructure got to do with the steel industry ?.Tax takes money out of the economy and reduces economic activity.
We need tariff and import barriers to force people to buy domestic not Chinese.
We need to re start the coal industry and abandon net zero.Steel means coal and lots of CO2.They are mutually inclusive. You canât have a viable coal industry without also having other types of domestic demand for it for home heating and electric generation.
How can we pay more tax without a pro rata increase in incomes ?.
IE we need everything that you stand against because you are clearly all about doing whatâs good for China not us.
You really believe if we all get taxed more that will improve things? We already pay record high taxes and look at how f***ked everything is.
Are you serious about giving Rache from accounts more of your money.
Good lineâŚ
But not too accurate.
Taxes do not go straight into the pockets of ministers etc.
I reckon you appreciate that very well, although some others here donât.
The Nordic countries have high levels of happiness.
Generally they have good health care, housing, education, and fairly low crime.
They also have some of the highest levels of tax.
As I said you (generally) get what you pay for.
Pay less tax and get worse services all round.
No problem with paying tax so long as itâs paid for with increased incomes first and we canât increase incomes without the wealth creating industries needed to earn the money.
We canât have the wealth creating industry and disposable incomes with the net zero scam creating unaffordable energy costs and energy shortages of fuel for the blast furnaces and machines and destroying the demand for the finished products.
The commies know that but they are obviously working in the interests of Communism, not western economies.
Caught out and you come back with that dear oh dear that is pathetic.
I await my next lesson on economics like do our taxes go to The Treasury? and who is in charge of The Treasury and the spending of our taxes.
Do taxes go to the treasury?
Of course they do.
However the treasury does not buy solid gold toilets for itself, nor buy racehorses.
Most of the âtreasuryâs moneyâ goes back to the country as a whole. As I would think you know.
We can all have a rant about the unnecessary spending we see, but on the whole most spending is not a waste.
I would rather money is recirculated by Government than stashed in off-shore accounts by the tax-dodgers who own the media, and political parties, or is invested in foreign companies whilst foreign agents get to buy UK strategic companies.
Yeah we can and the argument should stop there.
You say you would rather pay more tax, I do see the point you make, (but do not wholeheartedly agree with it.)
Before we âvolunteerâ to pay more tax letâs just save on some first eh?..and see what happens.
Be tough and in a hard line way stop at a stroke the unnecessary waste of our taxes âŚ
Yep I do not disappoint, you know exactly where I am going with this. the absolute obscene waste of money spent on the welfare and keep of ILLEGAL immigrantsâŚjust for starters.
Do not hit me with another balance sheet explaining it will not cover itâŚI get it so no need, and I am not saying that it wouldâŚbut as they say at Tesco..
'âEvery little helpsâ .
But combine it with sh like subsidising airports in Pakistan for instance that one of thise Labour clowns was advocating for the other dayâŚ, yep foreign aid, another 'âoncostâ ..
Somebody once put a list up of money we were wasting on unnecessary foreign schemes, bordering on woke issuesâŚbut Labour would rather save money on freezing pensioners.
Yep all been said before and done to death, but all absolute relavant points when you are discussing ways to save revenue.
So stop all the b/s first, also cut back on a few wage bills for non jobs in govt,.the type that were highly prevalent in the EU for instance.
Review MPs ââexpensesââ ,
Shunt the gravy train into a sidingâŚ
Look.after the pennies and the etc etc âŚ
Then see how mich we have saved.
There ya go FranglaisâŚIâve saved you a few quid.
NooâŚdonât dare thank me itâs fine.
So then when you volunteer to pay even more tax, at least it will be minimalist after already saving virtually a Kings Ransom in wasted capital.
Oh and speaking of all this type of stuff and British Steel.
One word.
''Milliband .âŚdiscuss.
There is a whole new unexplored and vastly full coal mine in Cumbria which was to be put to use in a modern way , until the brainwashed mad assed green crew put the mockers on itâŚwith all the jobs it would have created in the area and benefits to the local economy.
Still.at least the minority (as usual) lefties who are to blame for it are happyâŚjust look at their little faces (and trademark placards) in th pic.
Cretins.
Tell us more about Swedish incomes and income tax levels IE generally higher incomes and around 30% tax including the equivalent of our national insurance contribution.
State pension retirement age 63.
Lower income tax rate for those claiming state pension and choosing to work in retirement.
Obviously Swedish truck drivers can earn more than UK owing to the higher productivity provided by Swedish truck length and weight regulations so can afford to pay more tax.
Ironically Sweden also has stil maintained more of its steel industry than UK.While having banned extraction of its own coal reserves replaced by imports which exceed its consumption.
You couldnât make it up.
