Just got delivered today my copy of Key Roadscene collections “British road services” book.I bought it through Amazon and was amazed how cheap it was. What a great piece of reading and some really good photo’s.I am very glad I bought it and am taking my time to fully read each page and look carefully at each picture. The variety of photo’s is a credit to all involved in the collation and publishing of this book and I can fully recommend it to all.
regards Chris

Hi Lads

I believe the Liverpool depot’s were Studholme street,(if you look on Google maps the current pictures show some old sheds which are very much in keeping with the BRS depot style.)at Townsend lane,by Edinburgh park and Pickfords depot on Great howard street.
Hello All, thought I should post these pictures I took a few years ago in Oadby scrap yard. ‘Did any of these motors get saved from the cutting torch?’ be interested to hear any news on them. Not holding my breath mind !!
I Remember this Leyland Terrier , driven by the late Idris hughes , please note the telephone number is in correct for Oxford ! it should read 01865 .
Idris kept this wagon immaculate and watched us fitters like a hawk when we climbed in the cab.
also is a clip from the brs paper "midland blue " about Idris .
Took these pics at Rush Green Motors yesterday, Steve (JAKEY) & I went for a day rust-spotting . Regards Chris
A couple more from yesterday . Bit of help needed here, Hi Tidderson, Steve & I thought that the Fleet No. is possibly Oxford Depot? It was nosed up against a fence, but I managed to lay on the ground & hold the camera at arms length to get a pic of the Reg. Plate for extra reference, can you confirm where it was based please? If it was Oxford my Dad may have driven her at some point! Hi Ivor (Toshboy), maybe you recognise it if was Oxford, as you worked with Dad on there. Any help would be much appreciated
. Regards Chris

Hi Peter, not Oxford then , ah well thanks for the info’ anyway, its all fascinating, love the pic’ of her when new
.A lot there were buried so deep it wasn’t worth the pic really because all you could see was a windscreen & no Reg/Fleet numbers visible, that’s the downside now isn’t it of BRS colours, so many red ones from that era that without numbers they are just another wagon with British Road Services on the headboard
! This 1 is from Sheffield as shown by side-shot, but you can no doubt trace its history as Fleet No. is clear(ish). Love to restore 1, I have somewhere to keep it too
. Regards Chris
