“Yeah! Go Kemi! You bring us outdoor eating and drinking, and make it snappy”,
I was thinking to myself yesterday afternoon, as I watched first the torrential rain, then the hailstones, in late May.Yes, outdoor dining is what we’ve been missing… Not.
Happy Birthday !
23/06/2016. Referendum day.
Anyone attending the street parties celebrating this marvellous win we all had?
Fetch Fido, fetch. There’s a good boy.
Brexit was never going to be a good idea
A simple solution to a mass of complicated intertwined issues?
The experts, including Nobel prize winning economists, were right then?
And where are Johnson, Gove, Davis, Frost, etc?
And where is Farage? An MP now.
Selling another simple solution to a complex problem:
“Stop the boats and we will all have better jobs, and more housing”, “Just send them back to France”. Easy.
And he has plenty of buyers too.
I see that the ground is being broken on the Holyhead facility now.
All part of Johnson’s grand scheme of “no border in the Irish Sea” and “oven ready” Brexit plan.
£48 million I think. Plus the other facilities being built at Fishguard and Pembroke. UK Gov suppling the money…how?..our taxes.
All will of course be staffed with personnel paid for by?..us.
Thank you Brexit. A wonderful chance to find a way to spend all those tax pounds that we have no other use for.
We paid to be a member of the EU? Yes, we did.
I could save a transport company a huge expense by stopping buying engine oil and filters.
It would not be a wise move though, would it?
Leaving the EU has saved on that one expense. And increased expenses in many other areas, and driven down trade overall.
We now have, and pay for extra clerks making export and import docs (paper or electronic) more civil servants administering them all. Customs officials paid for by taxes. Other costs are borne by we consumers or some foreign customers of UK firms will not pay the extra, so get goods from EU suppliers who do not need the extra paperwork and can react quicker.
I was driving Europe mostly with T2 Docs and can well remember the ease and speed gains of dropping them.
I also was driving when the new systems were started. I know that journeys were and still are delayed and disrupted by extra checks and bureaucracy. It all costs extra.
Oh dear,The Brexit Drama Queen has revived her Brexit thread.it seems
She should be ‘clutching at her pearls’ over her party’s current political infused disasters , not something that went on …what is it now? 7 8 years ago?
(Bloody hell your illusions and aspirations of being a politician is rubbing off on me now.that last bit sounded like parliamentary style speaking )
Aint got a single scooby about Holyhead anfd Fishguard except that I have shipped out there a couple of times, so cant comment…
As for the point I raised…,
Ok a lot of those current problems aint down to your beloved Labour Party directly but they are certainly exacerbating a lot of it, making other stuff worse, and worse still actually ignoring much of the more important aspects.
But hey let’s concentrate on Boris effin Johnson, Brexit, the faliure of such, and it’s effects instead eh?..yawn yawn…
It’s obviously easier for you to discuss, and certainly more convenient (and comfortable) for you than to criticise your beloved Labour Party.
So yeah, do just that, and lets ignore the long list of current Labour govt situations that are prevalent currentlly.
Lets ignore the new dictatorial authoritarian regime running a politicised and dare I say it…2 tier, police force and judicial systems.
Lets ignore (just as Starmer is ironically) the up to 8000 illegal ( oooh sorry 'irregular ) bogus asylum seekers that he promised to sort.
Lets ignore the robbing of the pensioners to save hundreds of pounds whilst they draw thousands in expenses.
The list goes on.
As for Brexit mate,.I wouldnt worry, your mate is currentlly visiting Europe trying to lead us back in (screaming) by stealth through the back door …despite his denial and protests to the contrary, so all will be well for you soon…exceot perhaps the severe withdrawl symptoms of your incessant belly aching on the subject.
Hello ! Work starting now. Taxes from today being spent. Expenses going on into the future.
What aspects of Brexit are the present Gov making worse?
The Labour party are not my party and they are far from perfect.
But hey, since you are always open for discussion on Brexit and your hero Johnson, and never tell anyone to shut up, and never moan about ongoing threads, I am sure you are in no way hypocritical.
Some serious back peddaling going on there about the Labour Party.
Hardly surprising after you kept telling us that they aint as bad as the Tories when leading up to the election…
How’s that one going so far?
I fully understand now why you kept evading my question on why I should vote for them, and why you stopped short of pointing out their qualities over the Tories…classic face saving arse covering excercise…well done.
Not your party my arse, if not who is?
The lentil eating yoghurt knitting bed wetting socialist severe left party?
You being the only member?
Hey you could become a politician/MP after all.
And you call ME a drama queen (in a Dracula calling somebody a blood sucker style) because I dare to point out Starmer’s authoritarian ways…aye ok .
Anyhow said me peace,.I’ll leave you to wallow in your (yawwwwn) latest Brexit belly aching session.
Carry on.
I certainly did say they were not as bad as the Tories. And stand by that.
That is a lot different to saying they were brilliant or whatever.
Just because I say that I do not like “Blue” does not mean that I must love “Red”.
Is that so very hard for you to understand? (Rhetorical question of course)
Dunning-Kruger in full effect here.
PS, Where are the things Labour have “exacerbated”?
I thought I was done …
Ok lets start with illegal immigration of chancers and freeloaders…or in your derisory pc everybody welcome type little world ‘IRREGULAR immigrants’ or ‘Asylum seekers’ or refugees.
Exacerbated to the tune of 7000 and that was 3 days ago, average daily figures say 300? so maybe nearly another thousand (and counting) since.
How’s that for exacerbation for you?
Btw…I admit I had to google your trademark superiority complex pretentious crack, I thought Dunning and Kruger were a German chemical co.
So now I have limited competence and over estimate my knowledge and abilities eh?
Wow…just wow.
Hi Pot I’m Kettle.
You are black…springs to mind here.
Wow!
GBN finds out that more boats cross in good summer weather, than in bad winter weather!
Which would mean that you are the same as the rest of us then!
I guess that is the real slap in the face.
I can take the jibes mate, not a prob, but do you HAVE to maintain your irritating self appointed status of apologist and denier on all this stuff…not to mention the usual (veiled) contempt of the source of info…cos it don’t fit in with your blinkered views.
Irrespective of rain hail snow or blow, it does not alter the fact that in the 2 months of power, your Labour govt has done the far end of f/all in terms of prevention, action, or deterrent, but instead bizzarelly chose to ignore it…
And that is despite the vast majority of the country being up in arms about the shear volume of criminals infesting our island, and the costs involved.
And then I only hear YOU (still) squealing like a piglet about Boris Johnson.
Just found this, and I’m only putting it on this probably wrong thread, as it was this thread where I tried to make my point.
This clip kinda re.iterates everything I say.
Now no doubt our mate will be along soon totally refuting and rubbishing it, and discrediting the radio station in question who broadcast it just for good measure.
But ffs it is worse than even I thought it was.
What are these people in power on exactly?
Why can they not at least acknowledge the mood of the country?
What are they trying to achieve?
How can they think letting in these constant supply of human dregs, who are draining our economy, is a good and positive move for the UK?
It isnt that any are going to be sent back anytime soon, so homes and facilities will need to be found for them at our expense,.with all the negative aspects that will bring…and still they arrive in vast numbers every day.
I mean basically…WTF ?
People need to keep being vocal about this, dont fall into.Starmers trap where he thinks if he ignores it, the anger and dissatisfaction will just go away.
And dont listen to the hand wringing lefty bed wetters who condone it or actively support it, they are worse than those perpetrating it.
I also see that the Poles as well.as the Hungarians in the other thread dont eff about with these people as our govt does.
Meanwhile check out events in Hungary.
The amount of pesticide residue allowed on scores of food types in England, Wales and Scotland has soared since Brexit, analysis reveals, with some now thousands of times higher.
Changes to regulations in Great Britain mean more than 100 items are now allowed to carry more pesticides when sold to the public, ranging from potatoes to onions, grapes to avocados, and coffee to rice.
For tea, the maximum residue level (MRL) was increased by 4,000 times for both the insecticide chlorantraniliprole and the fungicide boscalid. For the controversial weedkiller glyphosate, classed as a “probable human carcinogen” by the World Health Organization (WHO), the MRL for beans was raised by 7.5 times.
Did anyone else see this? YouTube
A company in Kent having lost too much time and money in the Gov Brexit checks has built it’s own facility to check goods (plants). The formalities are carried out by genuine Gov officials of course but without the delays in the Gov provided sites.
'kin insanity.
And the new UK standards introduced post-Brexit has been dropped. The UKCA was dropped two weeks ago. More money spent for nowt.
