Any Bradford lads drive for Leathers Chemicals?
A firm I worked for bought a second hand AEC MK5 Mandator of them,AKU 384B. It cracked on a bit but put a rod through the side on the A38 Burton by-pass,1969 just afore Xmas,we hadn’t had it five minutes. There was a bloke who lived near me when i was young called Colin Connolly who drove for Leathers he had a V8 Mandator then a 110 he parked at the bottom of the road from me regular when home
IIRC the first Scania 110 Leathers operated was MKW 421G ? it would have been one of the first few 110’s sold.
Heres a couple of old Bradford Haulage photos, there of C,W,&N ROE transport. The Seddon was new and driven by a good friend of mine Derrick Clough. It was pulled back over and set off to Devon the next day. This Austin was his first motor.
The overturned Seddon
The overturned Seddon was brand new, the driver Derrick Clough is the chap with the flat cap.

Didn’t Bakers F12 get smashed up ■■? I seem to remember it ending up in Crossroads yard at Birkenshaw when I was a young apprentice there early 80s but I may be mistakenI remember 1 of Bakers getting rolled over on the A65 on the night trunk ,it could have been the F12 i`m not sure who was driving it but i did hear a tale
It was the F12 that rolled over and it was driven by Brian Sharp,XYG 641S the first F12 in yorkshire.

I can remember seeing an artic which ran off the A 65 between J 36 ( M 6 ) and Kirkby Lonsdale in the middle 1980`s.
I think it was a Foden (), owned by either Bakers , - or Jeffries of Otley , as both liveries are similar.
Cheers, cattle wagon man.
There was a tale going round just after Bakers wagon went over that all the sheep and cows wore crash helmets when a certain driverwas on the A65 lol
It was the F12 that rolled over, XYG 641S the first F12 in Yorkshire. It was driven by Brian Sharp.A foden S106 also went over at Kirkby Lonsdale,A709 JWU driven by Joe Greenough, both drivers were unharmed.
