Any one know anything about them, specifically round skeggy area .
It’s for a tramper , been off with high blood pressure for month or so , now looking for sensible hours , home every night etc

The 2 things don’t compute.
Trampers aint home every night…theyre usually away all week…so he has to choose one or the other…tramping or day work.
Mate of mine worked for bookers, well it was a week, he was on training and out with another driver…after ■■■■■■■ stuff upstairs ( not every place has a lift ) then having to put things away in the fridges, he realised it wasnt for him, so finished after the training.
I think he means he is a tramper…But now wants to be home every night…

Where in my original post is there any mention of me I’m asking on behalf of a mate ( if that’s allowed on here
) who lives near skeggy and this is one of the jobs he’s looking at
He asked me but I haven’t got a clue so asked the question on here
I live in Grantham so I’m baffled why you think I would want a day shift job in skeggy what is it 50/60 miles , crap roads what ever way you go .

I really couldn’t care what you think , my concern is only for helping a good mate who I worked with for years and has always been there for me whenever I’ve needed help
He’s been ill with high blood pressure , so when he rang me up asking if I knew anything about the job ( bookers, skegg ) I couldn’t help him as I don’t know anything about them / the job , so I thought I’d try and see if I could find out anything for him , as he’d do the same for me and has done many times .
That’s what mates do , help each other out , we may not have worked together for apx 3 yrs but you don’t just dump mates when they leave / or you leave , or I don’t .

It may be how I worded it , but he wants too come off tramping onto days , shorter hrs etc , he won’t do ■■■■■■■ stuff up stairs , when he worked with me and we started doing tesco shops etc he refused point blank , then took his redundancy at the first opertunity and relocated nr skegg , he’s been on fridges since ( tramping ) , which I always found a doddle but he’s so stressed when he rings , then he rang and said he was off with high blood pressure , now he’s on about going back and he rang me today about this job , I’ve no knowledge of it so thought I’d try and help by asking for him , but he won’t do it , so not sure what he will do , but like I said your health has too come first , I did suggest a night trunk job ( I’ve just got one , sounds a doddle , but he recons there nothing like that round skeggy so I don’t know , ta anyway

They had a point TBH - If you’ve only driven 20km in a 13 hr day then you’ve essentially taken the other 12 hours to do the deliveries (call it 10 hours to allow plenty of time for breaks, vehicle checks etc). That’s an hour and 40 minutes for each delivery (or roughly 15 minutes per cage, even if all of them had 7 cages, which they apparently did not).

Not surprised. Have done that kind of work myself in the past and managed 50 drops around a very rural area.

I’m not , I’m really struggling too understand why people would think I’d want a day job in skeggy when I live in Grantham , my mate lives nr skeggy , he’s on about the job not me
Anyway I’ve read enough too know he won’t do it , he’s stressed enough doing a drop / two never mind Connors 50
( I nearly had high blood pressure reading that )

And this is where the “driver shortage” is; Crap jobs where you spend half the day being some corner shop/forecourt owners’ free shelf stacker. I apologise if this bit sounds racist, it isn’t but the Asian shopkeepers (and bakers in my experience) will not lift a finger to help delivery staff and go out of their way to be pig ignorant. I watched one let the door go in one P and H drivers face about a month ago when it was obvious he was trying to wheel some stuff into the shop. They will happily stand and stare at you in case you’re tempted to steal some imported fake coca cola, and when it’s time to sign the delivery ticket will get the urge to ring someone and talk in their native tongue to avoid any dialogue with the slave. Sorry delivery driver.

Actually it is - the fact that your observation it is based on your own experience doesn’t mean it’s not racist.

The classic “I’ll give you a hand in a minute”. Then conveniently they have to make a phone call.
