Good riddance to a hypocrite. He lived a life of luxury yet claimed to be a man of the people like all union leaders do.I f*cking hate socialism.
If it wasn’t for socialism the landed few would still have the rest of us as serfs, zero hours would seem s utopian dream compared to that. Dead right regards Thatcher policies was Bob!
Im embarrassed by some of the narrow minded idiotic views on here, and what’s worse they’re off fellow drivers. Sad little men leading sad little lives.
RIP to him. Wasnt a big fan of a lot of his veiws but he did a lot to keeping his members jobs safe with decent terms and conditions and not letting saftey be comprimised on the underground.
Let me get this right…
Underground train drivers are working class people who earn good wages, have good holiday and pension retirements, truck drivers are working class people who earn crap wages, have crap holiday and pension retirements, and yet truck drivers feel hostility towards the person responsible for getting underground train drivers those terms?
You really have to ask if truck drivers deserve a better deal than they get…
Let all the haters fight on towards minimum wage
RIP Bpb

As an ex Postman for over 23 years I wish we had a union man like him then maybe the Post Office
might not be in the state it is and some of the company’s iv’e worked for as an Hgv driver could of
done with someone like him as pay & conditions & work for 15hrs with no overtime pay is a joke
Didn’t know a great deal about the man tbh, but from what little I saw he was exceptionally good at his job. Makes me wonder that maybe if he’d been in charge of the T&G or maybe URTU we wouldn’t be lambasting posts offering £6.50 p/h for driving a truck all because they can get away with it!
RIP a true working class hero who stood up for his members no matter people said

Agreed, it’s little wonder pay in transport is so low, the sad truth is £7.00 an hour is more than many of them are worth.
I’m not a fan of unions, they played their part in destroying British industry, and a lot of their reps are self serving. But Bob Crow was a man I had respect for. Some say he was a hypocrite living in social housing. He was living amongst his members. It would be more hypocritical to live in a gated mansion bleeting on about being in it together. He always did his best by his members. Yes he was lucky, the rmt served a public sector, as I don’t think he would’ve been as effective representing private sector workers. He came across as a ■■■ sometimes but always did the right thing for his electorate. Maybe Westminster should look to his legend. RIP Bob

His uncompromising scowl & dictatorial speeches are gonna be sorely missed. When former Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher died in 2013, he said: ‘I won’t shed one single tear over her death.
'She destroyed the NHS and destroyed industry in this country and as far as I’m concerned she can rot in hell. She did too, while she was closing all the heavy industry down the Germans were building theirs up which extends even until today, so who was right? Not Thatcher …
RIP Bob
Thatcher doesn’t deserve to be quoted on this topic she did more damage to this country than any other person in history
RIP Bob Crow
A man that stood up and fought for what HE believed was right, regardless of what others thought of and called him, a true UNION man .
As far as i’m aware he payed hes bills and taxes form the wages he earned, so that gives no one any right telling the guy how he should spend the rest of his own money, council house or not.
A sad day indeed. Ken Livingstone’s appreciation below probably sums up his legacy. His will be a very hard act to follow. The working man desperately needs someone of even half his calibre to come forward.
‘He fought really hard for his members. The only working-class people who still have well-paid jobs in London are his members.’
Tell you what, whatever you thought of the fella he supported his members and got them a better deal and regards the commuters f… Em. You look after number 1 in this life else you get walked all over, I’m sure anybody in a union would have loved him as their gen sec as he always got them a better deal.

Unless my letter got lost, weren’t undemocratatic political powers jealous of the UK’s hitherto brilliant postal service that resulted in privatisation of the PO becoming a legislated requirement of the EU, which Mr Crow fully believed in
So everybody is happy to pay these tube drivers £60,000 a year out of their taxes? I am not. How has a pay deal been negotiated when the union has basically held the capital to ransom? He was a champagne, socialist thug, like so many before him. You pay your dues boys, while he holidays in Brazil. Suckers.

Post Office hasn’t been privatised so not sure which EU legislation one is referring to exactly.
i agree with brados,i said in one of my posts last year that it was a shame we did not have someone like bob crowe running a union for hgv and other drivers, the transport unions in this country should show the kind of backbone bob crowe had then we might have a haulage industry we could be proud of,but the transport unions in this country are only interested in one thing and that is lining their own pockets, they do not give a ■■■■ about hgv drivers here,R I P BOB CROWE
