oh i do so miss that work , more medication nurse ,it would stick to the walls of the trailer, and some prat would say jerk it,4 rams up about 25 ton flapping about in the air what fun, when it did move it was one block of crap (mushroom compost)

I remember seeing them Renaults now when they were queued up with Bruce Parrs old green wendy house Volvo FL10s at Blackbush metals in Virgo Lane Yateley.. Bruce Parr had his wagons painted in Blackbush Metals colours with Reading Haulage on the door and there old scrap trailers were
nt in the best of nick so in comparison them Renaults looked like shiny new pins!!!
I knew Mick Dance went working for Joey Meakin in the Builders yard but never knew he had moved on and started working with Steve. Is there Transfer Station in old Dave Walkers old Chalk Pit at Playhatch or in Folleys old gravel pit??
Frank were`nt to back once you got to know him but he did always had the weight of the world on his shoulders.
daf3300.
Harrington & Jessop. Was this the same firm that sold the yard to Blue Prince Mushrooms? Had a big yard in Frogmore on the far side of Yateley??
Mick Fry… The only bloke I know who had done everything… Badly!!! The giggle value was good though because he could never back up his stories!!!

Spot on with Dave Wakers old place at Playhatch - I might have an old photo of Grahams Renault - i’ll post it if so
Steve
HI THERE EVERYONE AND TO YOU BOYZE. I think you’ve set up a great thread here boyze, well done to you. Ref Colin Ockwell i remember him very well, fairly short, slim build with dark hair, i even had a few nights out with him- a decent sort definately. When i saw a pic of your Meakins Volvo the penny dropped and i remember you, i used to run out of Courages for JWQ and for stobarts, late 80’s /early 90’s period and i can remember you at places such as ROCKWOODS, ENFIELD tipping cans, i only realy knew you to nod to. As this is Berkshire companys I’ll put some pics up of the Newbury Carnival, summer 1987 (is it really 22 years ago ? -can’t be surely?), these pics are of JWQ/SAYERS/C & B Haulage and i hope everyone enjoys them, regards- Terry
One of Graham Chivertons Renaults - this pics been on our paintshop wall for about 17 years

SORRY- my pc was playing up and i appear to have put the same post up twice! On this post I’ve put a few pics up of just JWQ Transport, regards, Terry.
TautlinerTerry.
Great pictures mate. That 112 Scania of Sayers is still about and still painted in the same colours, it is owned by Scott Breadmore now and he uses it to pick up and deliver trailers and it hides out in his yard at Great Shefford. He also still owns the AEC militant breakdown truck they had but I dont know where he has parked it up. Next time I am down there I will get the photo and put it on here.
I had some cracking photos of C&Bs old F88
s but i have searched everywhere and cant bloody find um. Do you remember Paul Ferris who had one of the last 88s?? He worked out of the brewery with us for a while and I think he lost his HGV due to illness and started working for Les Brewer, he had the 88 parked up in a barn but when Les left the yard at A1 metals in Wokingham I lost touch with him. Colin Ockwell came on for Hadleys while I was there, everytime I got fed up with going up the road I went back to Hadleys for a while!! He was a nice bloke but he struggled with the pace of the tippers so he was
nt there long and I have never seen him since.
Its a small world mate, we have all proberley meet at sometime along the line, thats the beauty of this forum, things that you`ve long forgotten about all of a sudden come flooding back.
neversweat1.
If you can find that photo mate I would love to see it.
Boyze
The pics between Terrys posts - my Dad worked for Fentons then Hadleys - drove a Dozer at Herons Nest
Terry your computers ok its this site - it keeps saying general error when really its worked ok
Steve
Steve
I must have missed that earlier on!! Your dad must be Derek or Tommy then mate. Derek was the main driver then Tommy did a bit up at Herons Nest. There was Pat Courdrey who came off the lorries and drove the Dozer at Whistley Mill Hurst and then moved up to Ufton Nervet. Your dad will remember the old boys like Danny Andrews (who moved to Devon) and Wally who still drives the Volvo Low Loader, Heart attack Harry (ganger) and the mad paratrooper Jock who`s proper name escapes me at the minute… There where some good charactors at the old Rose Kiln Lane yard, Ronnie Quinn one of the best JCB drivers in the area…
Boyze…
Hi Boyze
My Dad was Derek - did about 45 years for Fentons/Hadleys.
Pat Courdrey - he WAS a misery His brother Keith still drives for Hadleys and Keiths son Nigel is our painter.
Dad always called Jock - Mac I’ll ask him if he remebers his proper name.
I know Ron Tommy “MAD” Danny Andrews etc I’ve never heard the low-loader driver called Wally before
Did you ever come across a fitter at Hadleys Andy Harris
Danny at a Fentons do

I remember the Maxters… Chris Barrett (rabbit) in the first one, behind him George Thirft (thirfty) and Dave ? (dave the rave). Say hello to your Dad for me, its been a few years!!
I remember Keith as I did a bit for Walker on Micky Dance`s old Leyland after he sold it to Dave. I know Nigel he still does all are spraying and you must have spent a lifetime under the cabs of my Terranova Premiums!!!
I was sure the old low loader driver was called Wally, but I could be wrong…
I dont remember Andy Harris, he must have been there while I was back up the road…
Me with my new Kerex.
Me and Mick Preistley (vicar).
On the Skips.
Ex Micky Dance Tipper in Dave Walker colours.
Another trip back to Hadleys only this time I was on the Bulker.
Hi Boyze
Tony is the name of the low-loader driver “hatchet” his nickname i think his surname is Hatch or Hatcher
Have you seen or heard anything of Chester recently He seems to have disappeared
The old Dodge brought back memories - i think they had 2 of them - some purchase care of Brian Podbury i think
Have you anymore Hadleys pics
Cheers
Steve
Steve
Hatchet that was it… I took over the 95 Daf when it was taken off low loader work and finished its days of pulling the bulker, until they gave it to a very unhappy Bob Beckley!!!
I havent seen Chester since he moved out of Grazeley Rd but I do see Trevor his boy every now and again, he is still driving a skip truck for Shorts out of Ascot. Your right there were two Dodges the other one did
nt have the bar between the skip arms. Brian Buzza drove that one.
I got quite few old Hadley pictures.
Your Dad in the background…
Kerex.
Parked up in the old yard.
Back on the bins. Newer Truck this time.
Last of the Hadley/Fenton Demolition Trucks.
There was only me, Paul Andrews (pig) and Mark Wright who could drive this old beast, everyone else was scared witless of it!!!
The gutless wonder!!
