Dawson Freight F88 from Leighton Buzzard.

Also had a depot in Bedford Dean, bloke a couple of doors down from my mum used to drive an F88 tanker for them, not sure he was supposed to but often used to park it on a piece of waste ground near there. He left there to drive for Charles Wells Brewery back when that used to be a good job! I’ve found quite a few more photos of theirs but it says copyright so probably better not post them. There was also a tie up with Fredrick Rays who also had a depot in Bedford who in turn had some tie up with E.Hull of Bedford. Fredrick Ray also has some kind of charity type trust in Bedford with a close made up of retirement bungalows named Rays Close, there is a small plague on the entrance stating this and have to say it’s a very nice location and well maintained.

Thanks for that Dean, greatly appreciated. I’ve been looking for photos to post on here and one company that used to be on the side of the A1 at sandy has eluded me so if you have any on your vast collection I would appreciate it. Darlows, from memory they had red cabs, I think they relocated to Peterborough but not totally sure about that.
