I’d find the spotter and pay him a visit, shouldn’t be too hard to find the weasel.
A spotter sent a pic of one of ours with no seatbelt on and holding phone to his ear, he got a written warning n we all got letters reminding us not to do that

He was a bit slow should have told them he had a pencil in his mouth and make them prove different, I had a couple of joke pencils that looked like a cigarette had one in my gob all the time just wind them up used to get some funny looks going into some yards, but when told what it was they didn’t say word, a friend of mine who was on the busess got two weeks paid holiday when someone shopped him for smoking in the cab he was put on two weeks paid leave while awaiting a disciplinary hearing at the hearing he proved he hadn’t smoked for donkeys years and produced the pencil he had in his mouth, case dismissed, play them at their own game and quote their own rules back at them, good fun.

If a sad sack spotter sends in a photo of you puffing on a ciggie and blowing smoke rings out of the window, you’re going to have a hard time convincing them it was a pencil.
You’re friend got away with it because it was a pencil.

All depends on company policy.
I know of a company that has banned e-cigs within buildings and vehicles because there is currently no evidence to prove/disprove that the “smoke” emitted is either non harmfull/harmfull to the passives, apparently.
They’ve got an app now to spot eddies now.

Seems a sad state of affairs to me but I guess whoever shopped the guy got a few moments pleasure from losing somebody his job? Could maybe understand it if it was a fuel tanker, many years ago Shell driver’s were encouraged to shop another driver if they spotted them smoking in their cab, but in my book you don’t do the dirty on your workmates, or do you? ‘Let he who is without sin cast the first stone’ or something like that!

This doesn’t surprise me when you see the state of some of the sad ■■■■■ that stand outside the depot gates on the tv show. They have wet dreams and dribble from the mouth when they see a truck they haven’t got.
I start to worry about their well being and state of mind in some of them how they let something so sad take over their whole lives
