NO!!! Policy and law are very different. If you can’t understand that best you give up

Maybe amend to read: ‘…So be careful out there, if you’re out there breaking EU legislated law, you never know who’s about with a camera…’

Different yes.
Both can get you sacked yes.
Original comment still applies.
In my opinion no. You claim the chap is above the LAW. You assume that company policy hasn’t been adhered to. You’ve no evidence of this.
You claim LAW and policy are the same thing.
They’re not
NO Smoking in cabs is a rule applying to many Companies with a fleet of motors not just Stobarts, its applied because its an offence by law.
NON smokers have the right to refuse to drive a vehicle that is or has been used by someone who smokes, and that is why rather than have a vehcle stand its easier to say NO SMOKING full stop
Agree with the thing about no smoking in the cab…think it was a bit harsh to phone in and report someone though! Re e-cigs, I believe this company policy at some places as discussed.
Our place have banned e-cigs from the premises…even if they’re not in a customer facing area. Kind of shot themselves in the foot though as now office staff just have their smoking break outside whereas before they just had a cheeky drag every so often when they were out of sight of a customer while working…
The problem for companies with e-cigs must be because it’s hard to tell the difference. Like Ossie, above, with his pencil/■■■ in his mouth. Easier to ban them all than to have arguments.

A spotter sent a pic of one of ours with no seatbelt on and holding phone to his ear, he got a written warning n we all got letters reminding us not to do that
Were I work now a driver was getting wound up by a motorist rightly or wrongly, anyway when the car pulled alongside him (motorway) a womamn sitting in the passenger seat, he gave them the finger at the window, the woman had an Ipad in her hand and took a photo. She then Emailed it to the company (email address on the cab door), 10 mins later the guys planner is on the phone asking WTF has been going on. He got a warning for that.
Were I was working a couple off years ago, one off the drivers took it upon himself to photo any off his colleagues he saw smoking in the Cab, and then to inform the office, several got warnings. To me thats about as low as you can go, I would go and create if anyone smoked in my desgnated truck, but I dont give a stuff about what others do in their trucks, even if I might have to spend a day in a smokers truck, I just put up with it when its only for a day or 2.
Really as if this job aint got enough agro, to then have a so called colleague drop you in the brown stuff
Is it also illegal to smoke in cabs whilst abroad, i only thought it was a uk ban.
back to the grassers post, i heard that Stobart drivers could report their colleagues for not wearing their tie and were fined £5, which was then given to the grass, was this a myth ?

The UK doesn’t have the wit to democratically run itself, what with keeping up with EU diktats & running the World
