Banned off site

Get on flat trailers, bye bye RDC zb holes

Or tippers. :smiley::grin:

I once delivered to BJ’s wholesalers near Boston MA and parked on the dock then went on a 2 hour sleeper break because they said it would be at least 3 hours to offload, after a few minutes they were banging on my cab telling me I had to sit in the cage whilst being unloaded for ‘safety reasons’, I told them I was on break but they refused to work until I came in. “Fine, I will be in there in 2 hours then” I said, this created a whole storm and the manager was called, I explained the whole 2 hour in the sleeper rules but he was adamant that I should sit in his scabby cage, I told him that I would be reporting the issue to BJ’s HQ and he just laughed… I got home and did just as I had told him (after doing what the ■■■■■■■ asked) and next day got a phone call at my house from BJ’s appologising and another from the git of a manager also to say sorry, it seems he was in error.

The thing I find funny about this, is the fact the RDCs think they are punishing you by barring you from their site.:open_mouth:

I’ve always thought this to be a good way of maybe avoiding places I don’t like going to. But most places I take raw material to has pretty decent staff and they’re always apologetic when things are taking lots of time! :blush:

Another positive is that a lot of places give you a bollocking if you leave your cab.

No, the funny thing is that the drivers think that’s what the RDC (or rather, the people working inside it) thinks. The reality is of course that the workers there don’t actually give a toss one way or the other. They have a driver in front of them who appears to be attempting to make their day difficult (but who actually has next to no influence at all) and a “management team” behind them who certainly do have a major influence on their employment status (and, by extension, their ability to pay their bills, put food on the table, clothe their kids etc etc). So it’s no surprise where their allegiances appear to lie.

That’s what he does, he wanders off for a tea or goes home before someone else comes to the sampler leaving everyone scratching their heads. The next man always slags him off pmsl.
