Nice one TT…I was banned from Morrisons Rushden last Thursday.
I just hope they will begin to understand that you cannot treat people in the way which they do!
You have more rights serving a prison sentence :imp:

So thats 2 of us from the same haulier

They have ridiculous rules and procedures dreamt up by someone whos never driven a truck.
I always respond to someone in the same manner as Im spoken to, so the gobby little scouse ■■■■ didnt know what hit him when he mouthed off at me

Which rules then?

Winseer:

It is difficult to pin them down, as they change from day to day, depending on who is on shift.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. I prefer to engage them in conversation over the rights and wrongs of what they said and how they said it in a calm but protracted way. They forget about you ranting back at them as soon as they move onto the next task on their list but get out of your truck on a bay and keep them talking for ages and they think twice before engaging you next time

Lol, mind games.

Mind games indeed, however, we are just trying to do a job and provide an efficient and professional service.

I put that in my e mail to Morrisons CEO Dalton Philips, along with my disappointment at the GM of the Rushden site.
I have had a reply already, stating that they will investigate the matter fully and reply to me in full shortly.

They dont have the brain power to be reasoned with

What did your boss say about getting banned?

did they offload you 1st ?

I’ve only been to one RDC and there a happy little bunch. They make you think that your just a thick driver. Even when you approach the window they ignore you and carry on with there daily tasks and when they do enagae with you they are rude. Why do they think there above everyone else?

I even unload my own truck and was moaned at about that, but what they didn’t realise was that there manager said i could after asking him if i could unload myself as i was waiting forever

i dont suppose the ban carries across to every morrisons rdc does it ■■?
and if you got it in writing can you forge me a copy… pleeeeeeeease

I hate Morrisons!

Nearly banned from the Wakefield one earlier this week. Went in to break down pallets at chill (after being on the bay an hour before tipping commenced) and after being tipped (12 pallets) was told to come off the bay, park up, then come back in to break down some more before I could drop and drive. There was no where to park anywhere, so I just blocked a load of parked trailers off and went back in to break down, telling the chap that he was taking the proverbial not letting me go. Told me off for gobbing off at him, and that next time I will break down until they see fit to let me go (I got released due to blocking their trailers).

I then went to Sittingbourne yesterday and had the misfortune to have a mixed load. Bread first. No other lorries waiting to be tipped. I waited half an hour for the two chaps to come back off break, and he says “are you here for a drop and drive?” I said yes, but isn’t it really inefficient for you both to go on break at the same time, I can’t spend ages in here as I will have another 90 mins round at chill to tip the remainder of the load.

He took one pallet off at a time and made sure it was all fully broken down before getting the next (as far away as he could from the bay door).

I’ve had a couple of near misses with regard to accidents with this drop and drive business and often wonder about lack of induction etc. I recently had a near miss with my foot, removing it just as they shoved all the pallets up together whilst breaking down.

i dont get how they can make you break down without any thought of training or induction

When I worked for Blake’s I quite liked Morrison’s Wakefield. Ok there was often a bit of a wait to get on one of the two bays in use (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) but once on it was tip and go. Surely the point of drop and drive is that you don’t wait for the goods to be checked?

Can anyone explain to me what this “break down” thing is?

Thats what I was thinking.

Used to sub to a haulier who did back hauls for Tesco, the great thing about it was that provovided you’d rang transport or whatever it was called, then they had to tip you no matter how late you were. The look on the faces of goods in clerks when told to get him on a bay next, when what they really wanted to was arse you about, was great

Its when its all got to much and you colaspe on the floor in a heap crying, i think
