i once got a punctre on the a14 whilst driving for royal mail, was told the fitters would be at least 2 hours so i jacked it up myself and got all the big elastic bands i could find and made myself a new tyre worked a treat!

I was told that if you put a microwave chicken tikka masala into your tachograph, it will cook it in 30 seconds and put a poppadom on the top on the way out of the slot.
You should have warned him that the new digital tachos are part of a secret plan to bring in road pricing and your bank card goes in slot 2 to pay the tolls. But if you do it before the scheme starts its not set up and just charges your card a quid a klick.
A guy told me today he rang ulster bank /rbs bank complaining why his mobile phone bill wasn’t paid as he had been cut of while in France and could not use his phone they asked was he a truck driver and if so he could put his sim card in the digi slot and he could phone home for free forever .and I tried last week and it works .

Just because the chip is in the right place doesn’t mean it will accept it does it? I have a few blank security cards that I have tried in the past and not worked. But likewise I do have the security software to read the ID from the Digi Card as well as from Bank Cards and they are not the same, for obvious reasons!
The tacho head would just reject the card.
What he could have done though was eject the card and pop it into the 2nd man slot without anything in the first slot Or just popped his card out altogether.
The only other issue I can see with using the bank card is if the tacho head tries to write to the chip and corrupts the card, but I’ve not tried duplicating the card IDs yet…
I’ve got a spare card here so I might fire up the hardware again and give it a try…

I use my nectar card every 3rd day ,
I get double bonus points and a free christmas hamper

Tried my Sky viewing card and ended up watching The Simpsons on the tacho head. Customer service rang me up tho for insufficient viewing breaks

Its like going into a roadside cafe and being the target of Captain BS… been there, done that… and yes using a magnet can interrupt and analogue tacho but not a digi one… and I wouldn’t try it cos DVSA will hang you out to dry
