Preferred the MAN’s.
Lots more space and plenty of storage. These things are to small lol
Blimey, the world must be tilting on it’s axis if they’re spending money on their fleet, whatever next, new deckers?

Funny enough we have heard 30 new curtainside deckers with fitted tail lifts which should be on the road by august.
and another 20 Scania’s on the road by then aswell.
About time…when I worked for B & M’s a good night was one when you didn’t break down

I have a breakdown about 1/2 a week. Which is always the tail lift or the moving deck on the double deckers.
The cost to get these fixed every week must be skyhigh. I think this is why the company has finally realised. Cheap old trailers aint the best thing to do.
Saw a dog tired ex focus trl on them the other day. It was rusted to ■■■■. Where do they buy these crap from?
probably been told to improve their fleet otherwise lose their licence LOL

do not have a clue haha. One day the same old trailers and there and next day more old rubbish sitting.
Most of the trailers are Ex-Woolworths 15’7 Trailers then you have the 16ft ones which are in the pics and a few Ex-Marks and spencers trailers which the company fitted with brand new taillifts.
But all the old Woolworths and going soon and this is why the new trailers are coming.

Would have expected an orange disc in the windscreen if it was their licence though.
Only problem with the fleet is the tail lifts or moving deck. Good coat of paint etc and could get another good few years out the trailers. Only seen 2/3 of the trailers which are rotten with rust. Broken taillift buttons. And the back doors which are knackered due to the loaders pushing them shut with a forklift which isn’t needed.
With the units themself. The new scania’s have be brought in as a few of the MAN trucks are going. 55/56 plates i am sure. The old yellow scania’s are still going strong it seems. Doing locals only. With well over 1 million miles on the clock lol
The ex-Woolworths deckers were junk as we had some mostly 2001 vintage. They were all in MOT when we had them but not in a well looked after condition mechanically. The box bodies were in fairly good condition but we still got shot.
Think B&M had the City-link deckers which we had too. They were less than 5 yrs old and in good condition. Cost something like £70k new and we paid £1.5k so you’d need a lot of tail-lift call outs to justify buying new.
Forgot about they Citylink trailers. Only have a few of them. Good trailers but only useful for stores without loading bay due the tail lift being inside the trailer.

Has your mob got some old halfords DD trailers? I see some on the road with the logos removed. But ironicly, the Halfords name seems to stand out even more where the decals have been removed. They should just have left them alone.

TBH i am not sure if we still have them or not. I know we had a few Orange ones with the outline of halfords still visable.
But with a small B&M logo underneath it.
Not pulled one of these trailers for a good month or so. So they will probably still be kicking around somewhere as one of them got the backdoor ripped off by one of our drivers as the trailer was to tall for the loading bay haha.
think they are about 16’2

Some of those trailers were a disgrace…sounds like not much has changed I remember them buying some ex co-op ones that you couldn’t get a pallet on unless you turned it sideways because they had a short tail lift on them, not easy considering the weight some of the warehouse staff in Blackpool used to put on them.
Swedish, do you work out of Speke? They’d just announced they were moving from Blackpool as I was in the process of leaving, be interesting to see how they got on because I’d heard they’d moved some trucks back.
