So then despite what they say heaven is actually in West Bay? Wish I could be there.
David
I have never been to a bar in the uk where you can buy a Ricard most sell Pernod so I think I have to agree with what you say David sounds like heaven

Very good ,well spotted Robert ,not sure I’ve seen that on this thread before .
Thank you Punchy have not seen that on here before ,I can’t remember seeing that truck it might have been after I left . Thanks to Robert , David & Dennis for your input also . We had quite a gathering last night at the Quaterdeck Poole drivers and a good friend from Framptons, many miles covered and a lot of red wine consumed with very good food.
Just need to build the bar and get some stock in David.
Thought you would have recognised Claudes easily Steve.
ah yes cliff looks diffrent thru clear/sober eyes lol. that pool looks nice and the view m8 . the claudes at barbezieux just didnt have same atmosphere gr8 days m8 miss them alot
I often used the centre routier at Barbezieux. Although it was a big modern place that lacked the cosy atmosphere of regular Les Routiers stops, it still had decent grub, a bar and stacks of parking - very useful if you wanted to push a long shift to its limits! Robert
Cliff, just book me in!
David.
agree there robert last time pulled in there was some kind of payment to be made think that was mainly to some drivers parking and not spending any money not like us brits shower/meal/and few drinkies .just remembered another little spot cliff the blue bar algeciras few late ones in there m8
I would think Claude must have retired from Barbezieux by now he did a very good job there but not the same as the Saint Genis.
David you are welcome anytime just give me a call and I will tell you when we are there. Thanks Steve and Robert for your input. I was going to try to get to Gaydon this weekend Robert but we are very busy so can’t mak,e it are you going to e Wessex truck show in August?.

Evening Robert.
It just so happens that there is a really nice little digs in West Bay that would be very convenient for the Wessex Show. I am going to go and am thinking that if you were thinking of going we might stay in West Bay which would give us the opportunity for a couple of beers. Good scheme?
David
