Axminster transport

Hi Cliff , agree with you stayed there several times I think on the N121 Irun side of another favourite of ours sunbilla hope I’m right . Have been over for a couple of weeks to see family and a funeral back to spain on sunday morning back over again in july will try for a catch up . take care Dennis

Hello Dennis.

Let me know when you get back Dennis - we need to drink some beer together. I know a really nice bar in West Bay that would be ideal!

David.

It would be nice to see you in that bar in West Bay David.

Great times with these lorries many years ago.

Might of seen this before.

Hi Cliff i have sent you a pm .

Most of us spent many happy hours eating and drinking here.

Be nice to see you Dennis we’re home again now, just keeping an eye on the Bay. With a Ricard of course.

Hi Cliff , yes all looks good to me , how could you possibly keep an eye on the bay without a Ricard or maybe two if it gets a bit busy with the summer just around the corner . We are back in spain until early july . Hopefully get up to see you then but I will have to tell Mr Miller or he will never forgive me said something about beer so save the Ricard maybe he doesn’t have the taste for it Ha Ha ,take care dennis

Thanks Dennis we might be out the end of June if you want to come and visit. First ime I’ve let this slip of the first page for a long time ,I need help from you boy’s out there. Here’s a face some of you will recognise, he used to travel with me a lot after he retired but still loved driving, he would do more driving than I would when we were together, sometimes doing a trip on his own and me staying home .

Cliff,
I was talking to a man today who was telling me about you having a brush with the Law in Cherbourg.
I find that ever so difficult to believe. :unamused:

David

Hi David , don’t believe that for I minute as far as I know we all used to behave ourselves , must of been another Cliff ha ha !

Hi David my guess is you were talking to our friend Victor, he always could make up a good story.

Would that have been the infamous Pinokio on his motor cycle, he used to make me chuckle as he would listen in on the CB radio channel and half the stupid drivers did not realize he spoke very good English and he sussed what was what, lots would run between two others who were straight but he got the gist of that and nearly always pulled the middle truck for a check, wonder no one ever run him over, Buzzer.

No Buzzer, it wasn’t. It was more in the port area where, I am told, that Clifford had a certain fame. Mind I was told this by a certain Cornishman who does love a good story. They just gave him his licence back Cliff and he is doing a fill-in job Jacobstowe to Southampton and back empty every Saturday morning so I would go careful on the A35 that morning if I were you.

I guess we all had brushes with Pinokio in our time. And how about that Scottish tw*t who was married to a French lady and patrolled the Periferique on one of those BMW motorbikes they rode? Did anyone else get nicked by him?

David

I think the Scot on the Periferique met his match getting between 2 Murphy International , Pinokio ( Claude ) died several years ago through drinking to much ,his son has taken over where he left off.

Remember pinky (jock) and his mate pulled me one Saturday afternoon but I must admit I was in the wrong . I just left the peripherique heading for Cherbourg and started up the hill on the autoroute if you remember there was a weight limit after midday on Saturday but I thought give it a go wrong again . Only got about 1km along and pinky and perky pulled me . Pinky jock wouldn’t take coffee money finished up 60 francs light in the pocket and then his mate Perky had 2 packets of gauloise off me as well . good days really . cheers dennis
